"Read something else," I said, walking away from Lisa. I could hear her shouting for me to return the book, but I ignored her. Once in my suite, I threw the book on the bed and ran my hands through my hair.

The Call to Arms The atmosphere in the great hall was charged with anticipation. Shadows danced on the stone walls as torches flickered, creating an uneasy ambiance. The pack's warriors remained silent, their gazes fixed on the Alpha who entered, burdened by the weight of destiny. Kael's footsteps resonated against the floor, the remnants of smoke and blood from the hunt still lingering on him. His shirt was tattered, his knuckles bruised, yet his eyes shone with an unwavering intensity. Each step he took commanded the attention of those present.

Suddenly he lifted his gaze and looked at the ceiling. “What?” Chloe was exceptionally surprised. She looked at her breasts and Arthur’s averted eyes. “Since when do you look away from my body?” she demanded. “I have no problem in looking anywhere,” Arthur mumbled as he walked around and started browsing through the books on the table. “What are these books doing here?” Chloe asked, distracted. “I am reading, why else,” Arthur shrugged as he picked up one book titled ‘Alphas and their dominion.’ “Are you planning on dominating others?” Chloe asked seriously.

Chapter 29: The Last Stand Alpha Callum’s POV The air was thick with the scent of smoke and blood as I stood on the battlefield, my mind racing, my body burning from the brutal fight. My pack was scattered around me, fighting with every ounce of strength they had left. The rogues were relentless, overwhelming in their numbers, and despite our best efforts, we were losing ground. The chaos of battle swirled around me—shouting warriors, the clash of metal, and the earth beneath me shaking with each strike.

Taz turn on a small torchlight which he had taken along with him before sneaking inside the sacred library. Every book in the library was about the blood moon beast. Despite the alikeness of all the books, there was a particular one that caught Taz's attention. It was a grey book with ancient inscriptions. He pulled it out, dusted it and hid it inside his garment and hurried out of the hidden room. Unknown to Taz, as he walked out of the room through the secret door and out of the library, the secret room disappeared and there was no secret library there anymore.

I don’t know what I expected. Maybe guns and men smoking cigars while plotting the end of the world?
