I have a notebook full of ideas, story segments just waiting for the right piece to fit into. I've conceived many new universes. I have a love story planned that I hope will make your heart skip a beat, between two young people wounded by the world. A horror story that I hope will take your breath away, with its demons. A fantasy that I hope will transport you to a world of mysterious creatures and strange rites.

I begin my first journal entry. April 26h 2023 In the beginning, there was a world unlike any other. It was a world of magic and mystery, of beauty and terror, a world where anything could happen and anyone could achieve greatness. But as with all great things, there came a time when the balance was upset and the forces of darkness threatened to engulf all that was good and pure. This is the story of that world and the people who fought to save it. It is a tale of heroes and villains, of love and loss, of triumph and tragedy. It is a tale of hope and despair, of courage and cowardice, of secrets and revelations.

With each word that spilt from my lips, I infused the story with my own sense of awe and imagination, wanting to share the magic with Ezio. Ezio's eyes shimmered with anticipation, his tiny body leaning closer to mine as the story unfolded. I wove intricate descriptions of castles with towers reaching towards the heavens, adorned with golden tapestries and stained-glass windows that shimmered with kaleidoscopic hues. The air was thick with the scent of blooming roses, their petals velvety soft against the skin. As I continued to read, my voice shifted, becoming hushed and filled with tenderness. ARCANE DELIGHTS I slowly close the journal, settle it in my lap and gaze at its black leather-bound cover. I rub its pebbled surface lightly, thinking. Only stories. These are only stories. Fantastical stories. A little more fantastical than I usually prefer, though well-written, by someone with a much greater command of the craft than I yet possess. The vivid characterization, meticulous attention to detail and a surreal sense of place makes me want to believe these stories happened, but I know they couldn’t have, and am ready to dismiss them as nothing more than fiction . . .

But without seeing what’s in there, I am only speculating. I got down on my hands and knees, not knowing what to expect.
