I had so much time on my hands I could read every one of these books. I found three that sounded interesting then went to the cafe for a watermelon lemon water, I never heard of a drink like that before. I found a nice big chair on the outside patio and opened my first book. It immediately pulled me into the story. It was an action adventure that followed the life of a strong Beta devoted to his pack. He had to marry a fairy to bring more protection to his people. This book said fairies had magic that seeped out of their pores, making any submit to their wishes. It was a fictional tale so I wasn't sure if anything was true, but it was an exciting adventure.

Until dawn crept through the curtains. Until the package arrived. Until tomorrow became today. And the fantasy The forbidden, addictive, all-consuming fantasy Became forever. Fade out on the snow. On two new passports lying open on the dresser. On two gold bands glinting in the wea k morning light. On her moan soft, satisfied as he whispered against her skin: “The fantasy never has to end.”

Each was a florid fantasy, not viewed as a tale, but lived in him. He was always the main character, distinguished and adventurous, an illusion of splendor he supposed. Cavin likes them that way, it is much better than ordinary life. So if the thoughts of an insane journey still come, how was he to say he was cured? When even in a precarious voyage of the supernatural, here he was risking his life again. A true fantasy is a fixed mistaken notion that gains traction, like a wheel of a wagon on the road, it propels a person in different paths, often unpredictable and toward catastrophe.

My jaw clenched when I felt it freeze suddenly, hovering just out of reach of the man's skin. My gaze roved over him, searching for the source of his protection. It didn't take me long to find it. Around his neck hung a barrier pendant—a magical object that provided the wearer with a form of protection against magic. The only way to bypass them was through physical touch. Most of the pages in the front were smudged too terribly to read anything but once it became legible, I started to shake with happiness. It was a story book! Eagerly I began reading the first story that wasn't destroyed. MY mouth dropped open in wonder at this finding. It was a shadow elf storybook, and a very old one. Page after page I flipped through the words absorbing every word that I could. The stories were full of ghastly creatures similar to the ghoulcat and the heroes of ancient Gwathendor who fought them. And their lady loves that they saved along the way. Soon enough I was hunched over the bed with the little book in my lap and my head in the clouds.

Note to Readers: This book is a slow burn romance. There will be loads of description of emotions, feelings and actions throughout the book reaching to the climax. If that's not something you think you enjoy, then a heads up before you move forward and buy chapters.
