“Shouldn’t she get that? Shouldn’t she have someone willing to take risks for her?” I spin around facing my brother. He stands on the hilltop, hands crossed in front of his chest, neck tilted to the right. Hard eyes glint at me.
“Yes. But why us? Hasn’t she caused enough damage to our entire family? Even your father wants her gone.”
“My fathers’ hurt, he’ll come around and if he doesn’t it’s his loss for going against his better judgment. But you, Killer...” I pause, taking a deep breath, letting my mind clear, “I thought you are better than that, she’s your wife.”
