I think I might just have a heart attack at this point. God take me please.

“God, Alice! You are so hard to get!” I decided to try and wash the dishes for the first time ever in my life and let the water spill over the rest of the syrup on my plate, chasing it down in the drain. Maybe I was naive, and my wish was childish, but deep inside I needed someone to make a statement that they want me in their life. I needed the big gesture to fill a hole in my heart that my family had opened. “You are lucky that I am so into you… I am willing to do whatever it takes to keep you by my side.” Thomas said as he hugged me from behind, and I pressed my back on his chest, relieved he was not giving up on me.

Like a heartbeat. Like something counting time.

I froze for a second, then scrambled to soften the blow, [But you're not like the rest; you've got a heart for the humanities. The chat bubble teased me with a constant [Typing…] at the top.

They were sufficient for him. He became self concious when the little acts of affection from Daniel or playfull nature of Carson started to touch his heart in a different way. Everytime when Daniel used to rack his hair with love, sent jolts to his core. Every touch from thanit sent tingles down his skin. And it scared him. “I sent you a video.” I scramble to open the file, my heart hammering against my ribs. There, on the screen is a tiny, blinking dot. A little bean I see it, the flickering heartbeat, and something explodes in my chest. “Strong heartbeat. Just like its mom.” She’s quiet for a second.

My tears slip down the sides of my face as I whisper under my breath… “Please… just hold on.” And somewhere deep inside me, I feel the faintest flutter in response, two tiny heartbeats, fighting to stay alive.

His voice was steady and low, flat as an undercurrent beneath ice. My heart lurched in my throat. At my strongest, even with Victor at my side, I had barely managed to hold him off. And now, battered and broken, I was nothing but an ant before him. The instinct to survive drowned everything else. My fists unclenched, and with trembling fingers, I grabbed the hem of his pants. My hoarse voice shook with desperation. "Alright. Take me away now."
