His Perfect Mistake
Neither man looked particularly tense, but there was something about the way they held themselves, shoulders squared, eyes occasionally drifting toward the door.
"Notice something?" She turned. Sophie had appeared beside her, holding a glass of water.
"Just observing," Bianca said carefully.
Sophie smiled. "That's a diplomatic answer."
"I'm learning."
"From my brother?" Sophie tilted her head. "That's unfortunate."
Bianca laughed despite herself. "He's not that bad." Before Bianca could say another word, an older man near the center of the room raised his glass.
"To another year of progress," he announced. "And to the partnerships that made it possible."
