Why was he suddenly acting so close to her? I stood there for so long, lost in my thoughts, that I didn't even notice when they walked in my direction. When they passed me, Michael paused for just a second. My heart jumped into my throat. Did he recognize me? But then he kept walking, as if nothing had happened. I let out a shaky breath, relieved… but at the same time, a little disappointed.

“You remember anything from that walk home? Any sense of danger? Anyone who might have proved to be a threat?” I thought hard. That walk home was a blur in my mind. I remembered very little, just a few random thoughts: how heavy Kelly had been, how tired I was, how drunk, how badly I wanted to be home. I remembered trying not to think how much farther we had to go, focusing on one sidewalk square at a time, ignoring the ache in my legs and in my back.

Triple J suddenly paused, he couldn’t remember the scene anymore. “Wait, I remembered!” he muttered. “I mean, it was there one minute and now it is gone, believe me sister, I really did remember something.” He said in panic. “It is alright, I am glad that your memory is slowly returning. Maybe coming out here really did help you, but now it is time to go home, and throw away that yogurt.” Rebecca uttered as she walked away to get changed out of the bikini.
