The Man I Swore to Hate

The Man I Swore to Hate

Aling Sela finally said, voice low. “Please don’t start,” I said gently, half-expecting it. “You think we say it to scare you?” chimed in another. “You think we don’t know what it’s like to love a man who thinks the ocean owes him something?” One of the younger widows—Anja—nodded slowly. “Mine went out before sunrise, too. Said he was fine. That the wind was light. That he’d be back before breakfast.” She didn’t have to finish. We all knew.

The wife they left behind

Nora Bellweather married a man who never loved her. When she found proof of his betrayal, something in her went quiet and hard. Then, drowning her grief in a dim bar one night, she saw three faces from a past she thought she'd buried for good. The next morning, her husband walked in with three important guests, and she nearly dropped the teapot in her hands. It was them. Older, sharper, wealthier, and dangerous in ways they never used to be. They had once loved her without limits before everything fell apart. Now they were back in her house, in her life, refusing to stay away. Nora cannot forgive what tore them apart years ago, and she will not survive another heartbreak in a marriage that h

Warning: Danger

Warning: Danger

We didn’t have much but we were relatively happy. I wasn’t madly in love with Mary, but she was a good she-wolf. She deserved better than me. I still didn’t see color in my life, no real sparks with anything. Just the day to day of it all, getting by. I decided one day after about six years of marriage to leave her, but I didn’t make it that far. That night we were ice skating at a local place, we were the last couple to leave. She wanted to take one more spin around and I had started back to take off my skates. I heard the crack, then her scream. She had somehow gone out too far on the lake into a thin patch. By the time I made my way out to her, she was under the ice, and drowned.

A Princess And A Baroness

A Princess And A Baroness

“I won’t do that, you are my wife!!” “I forbid you!!” She fired back “Just let me go!! Let me go!! I do not want to continue this marriage!! Why can’t you just pick from the many beautiful women you have in Westland. A lot of women wish to be your wife, you should have married one of them and leave me alone!! I saw the way some were looking at you, why choose me to suffer this fate. I assure you that I will escape the moment I get the chance to!!” Althea said to him with her eyes red and tears falling down.

My Wife Was Camping While Her Brother Died

My Wife Was Camping While Her Brother Died

After dozens of calls, the line finally connected. But the voice on the other end was not hers—it was Chase Donovan, her childhood friend. "Noah, what's the matter?" he asked. "We're about to go camping. We won't be coming back tonight." Ignoring the provocation in his tone, I spoke urgently into the phone. "Ryan has had a heart attack. He needs surgery immediately. Tell her to come back to the hospital—now!" Instead, my wife's irritated voice came through the line. "Are you done yet? Ryan is perfectly fine. How dare you curse him like that?"

The Unwanted Wife's Return (Ex-Husband Wants Me Back)

The Unwanted Wife's Return (Ex-Husband Wants Me Back)

She had looked at me like I was a stranger. Maybe I was. Vesper waved a hand in front of my face. "Are you even listening to me?" She pouted, her lower lip jutting out in that way she had perfected. "Your wife kicked me out. If she can bring another man home, why can't you let me stay there?" My expression changed instantly. I heard the words, the casual dismissal of my wife, the implication that I should let her stay, but it was only one phrase that cut through the noise.

THE KING'S HEALER

THE KING'S HEALER

She stood up and ran to her immediately, looking into the book. "Over here - I was reading an acient story of a man who's wife was a Healer. It states here that one day, the man consumed a dangerous poison and was on the verge of death. So, his wife healed him" Sally paused and moved her finger a little down. "But over here, it states that the wife had died in 1903, while the husband died 2 years later" .she noted and looked at Martha who was equally having a confused look on.

This is a decent book. Some parts repeat, sometimes names get mixed up. The thing that got me was you have this whole love story only to have the last 4 paragraphs wrap everything up all nice and neat. The thing I do admire is the friendship between Rosaline and Martha, it's lasting and beautiful.

The Wife He Couldn't Erase

The Wife He Couldn't Erase

My fingers tightened around the strap of my bag until the leather bit into my palm. “There’s nothing between them yet,” Phillips said, like he was reading from a script he’d written in his head all day. “You still have a chance. If you wait, it’ll be too late. That woman will sink her claws in and you’ll be left with nothing.” That woman. Lyara. Her name followed me everywhere today. At the bar, two women at the corner table were whispering, their eyes flicking to me when they said “Vance” and “jewelry line.”

Shadows In The Fire

Shadows In The Fire

Why would Whisper act that way unless they were in danger? And then, she smelled it, before she even saw it. The sickeningly putrid smell of death permeated the air, surrounding them from all directions. The cabin was surrounded, by hundreds of dead ravens. …………. ‘My beautiful Faye. I have loved you for most of my life and I will love you till my dying breath. I hope you can hear me, or feel me, and the love I have for you, in my heart. I can’t wait to be your husband and father to our baby.’

Mr. Waltson, Refrain Yourself!

Mr. Waltson, Refrain Yourself!

He stood on the rooftop and called out to Luna who was in the courtyard, "My wife." She raised her head and looked at him with a warm smile on her face. "Just come up. I'm ready." "OK," she nodded her head. When she went upstairs, she found that Wills Watson was the only one there. She placed her bag on a chair, walked to his side and said: "I thought Butler was upstairs too." "How could such a great world of two people be destroyed by others? After he has prepared everything, I will let him leave." "Is this considered destroying the bridge after crossing the river?"
