Power is knowing exactly who you are, exactly what you want, and having the absolute will to take it, keep it, defend it—no matter the cost.” He turned to face me then, his expression severe, eyes glowing in the dim light.

I let the words settle between us before answering, my tone as measured as ever. "That’s up to you." My eyes found Ava again. She was still standing there, alone, her expression unreadable.
