At the sink, washing my hands, the door swung open behind me.
“Love the suit,” Lucas said, stepping up beside me. “Probably costs more than most people’s rent.”
“That’s not a subtle way to call me rich, you know,” I replied, drying my hands with a tissue.
“Really?” He turned on the faucet, eyes meeting mine in the mirror. “What do you want, Gio?”
“I could ask you the same.”
He laughed short and sharp. “I always knew our friendship had an expiration date.”
“You’re not exactly the ‘friend type’ either,” I shot back.
