Chapter 16: The New Blueprint The morning air in the West Village was really crisp. It smelled like coffee and old paper from the corner bookstore. Elena sat at a table watching how the sunlight caught the wedding band on her left hand. The wedding band was a gold band now. The five-carat Vane diamond was tucked away in a safe. They only brought it out for parties where they still played the part.
