“We should send him a dagger, a bullet, and an ace of spades.”
Maxine blinked. “Wait…what?”
Leo turned around and looked at Dallas. “Go on.”
He spoke slowly, clearly thinking every word through. “The dagger means betrayal. He turned on us. The bullet means we’re ready to fight. And the ace of spades…” he paused, then gave a grim smile. “That means death is coming. The final card.”
For a moment, no one said a word.
Then Leo leaned back in his chair, eyes locked on something far beyond the warehouse walls. “That’s strong,” he said quietly. “Symbolic. He’ll understand every part of it.”
