The rules I have learned so far are as follows: o Rule One: Bridges are not allowed to use magic for self-benefit, hence why I am broke. o Rule Two: Bridges are restricted in using magic or thought to cast vengeance or harm to those they have bridged, even unintentionally. o Rule Three: Bridges must endure selected traumatic hardships to better acclimate them to various scenarios of pain, fear, hope, and despair, hence my PTSD, anxiety, and depression. o Rule 4: Bridges cannot undo, tear down, or destroy, by any means, the bridges they laid for others. This basically also plays into the no vengeance or recourse allowed rule.

As the mansion sat perched on the hill, Sherry had not once left the place on foot. The wide bridge was made of reinforced steel and concrete, withstanding the harsh winds and rains that regularly lashed the Cross Empire. On either side of the bridge stood towering pillars with bulbs, placed at equal intervals. Walking across the bridge that connected the mansion to the mainland was both liberating and terrifying. The height was dizzying, and the bridge loomed over the sprawling city below. For someone with a fear of heights, it could easily be a nightmare.

Sekora and the rest of her companions flew to a bridge, which they had to cross to get to the next sword location. They couldn’t fly over it because of the island’s barrier. The bridge is a long, red, metal bridge like the one in San Francisco. They flew to the start of the bridge and started to walk across, when a small, green, troll with a Mohawk came from under it. There was a small river under the bridge which made small waves thanks to slight breeze that was blowing in.

A thin bridge crossed the chasm, its surface smooth with fog. “This trial will test your trust in one another,” the guardian said, its voice a gentle whisper in the wind. “You must rely on each other to cross the chasm safely.” Clara felt a flash of vulnerability, but she pushed it aside, centering on the bond she shared with her companions. “We can do this,” she said, her voice unfaltering. “We only need to believe in each other.” One after the other, they ventured onto the bridge, their movements cautious and precise. The chasm extended out underneath them, its profundity covered in obscurity.

The ropes strained and creaked, the wooden planks of the bridge swaying precariously. "Hurry!" cried Beatrice from the back. With that, we immediately broke into a run, the bridge swaying violently from side to side. The planks creaked and groaned as we dashed across, threatening to give way at any moment. The ropes holding it up strained and shuddered, as if ready to snap at any second. But on we ran, fear and adrenaline propelling our feet forward.

I guess this is a part of the bridge’s illusion that temps people to walk back. “Damn it, Ace!” I hissed at him. “I told you...It’s PRINCE!” He stomped his foot on the bridge again and made it move even more. “Hey, f*ck. Stop doing that!” I screamed. “Are you going to walk faster or not?” He threatened me. “I will! I will!” I said and started moving again. “Still too slow. Do you want me to shake the bridge again?” “I am walking as fast as I can you ass!” My feet started inching faster and faster. And with every progress I made, I felt Ace following closely behind me.

No one stopped to help. By the time we hit the ravine, there were nine of us left. The path narrowed to a metal bridge suspended over a hundred-foot drop. It swayed with every step, bolts groaning. I could see the stress points Ash had marked. The bridge was designed to collapse once enough weight hit the center. I waited for the lead racers to cross first. Kade charged ahead, confident and stupid. Three others followed. The bridge groaned but held. Then the girl who'd been shaking ran across. The bridge buckled.

But soon, very soon, I was going to remind them all what it meant to cross me. And when I was finished, there wouldn’t be a single doubt left in anyone’s mind Ridge wasn’t a man to be toyed with.

Caitlin stood before the rope bridge to Skye, Caleb beside her, and Scarlet and Ruth behind them. She watched the dilapidated rope sway violently, as she heard the wind whistling through the rocks, the waves crashing against the cliffs hundreds of feet below. The bridge was wet and slippery. Flowers in a variety of colours and shades grow in clusters. There are various plants creeping like vines along with the glittering flowers. These plants comprise of leaves in differing shapes and sizes. Truly, the bridge is like a passage into a magical world beyond human imagination. Aria slows down in her attempt to stare at the arches that hold the bridge from underneath but since it is dark, she has to strain her eyes to see anything.
