Adam was alone in the solitude as the huge doors closed behind him with a subdued thud. Once more, the fire crackled, louder now, the shadows on the walls dancing in chaotic shapes. With a tight jaw and lines on his face deeper than they had been the day before, Adam fixed his eyes on the flames. He skipped the sip of the drink. He stayed still. His thoughts were elsewhere spiraling. They had found the man responsible for orchestrating the brutal assault that led to Dysis Almost getting kidnapped. But now… that man is dead. Killed. Silenced before he could speak.

Heading outside again, he met the Adrien standing with his back resting beside the car. Reaching him, Damien motioned for him to give the keys. Giving the Keys to the sir, Adrien bowed and made his way to the side. He watched the second young master get into the car and drive off. He wondered what their sir was up to. He looked uneasy, perhaps it was something about the young madam? If not, then why was the boss so restless? Pushing his thoughts aside, Adrien made his way into the mansion, he was starving.

“What happened to them?” “I guess that’s what Dad is here to find out,” Adam explained with a shrug, taking another sip of his coffee. “Everyone’s more concerned about how they died, and what killed them. It’s the most horrifying story I have ever read. Their blood was completely drained from their bodies, as if some weird vampire had drained it out of them. A whole family gone. Not one was spared…” Adam said, looking toward the window, his eyes suddenly filled with pain. I watched him in absolute shock. I wasn’t aware that this had been going on. I needed to watch the local news more often.

The only person he considered family was killed in front of him. "If you let me live, I will tell you the real truth about your mother," Adam pleaded, but Warren wasn't having any of that. He made one swift movement and with that, he ended Adam Parker's life. The story of the man known as the Dark Wizard, who annihilated the cultivators of the Firea Continent, was brought to an abrupt end. His head flew up in the air and landed with a loud thud.

Dan. Adam’s body felt something strange. Lt. Dan was no longer the same person he used to know. He looked like his body was being controlled. “what happened buddy?”, asked Adam. The last time, he had cursed her as a disgrace, declaring that from that day forward, the Payne family no longer had a daughter like her. Standing at the doorway, Emma's rational mind told her to turn and leave. But her feet felt rooted in place. She met his murky, bloodshot eyes. In the end, she stepped inside. "Em… It really is you…" Adam's voice trembled. He struggled to lift his hand. "I thought I was hallucinating." "What are you doing here?" Her reply came cold and distant, so much so that even she felt estranged from herself. "I have terminal pancreatic cancer." Adam chuckled bitterly. "At most, I have two months to live."

Realizing I needed to see the Pack doctor for help with healing, I walk out of the closet. “Is the doctor out of the cells?” I ask Adam. I don’t want to go to see that doctor, but I would have no choice. I needed some help with the silver; the infection was a bit further advanced on me and I was starting to feel it spreading. “He is dead,” Adam replies coldly. Startled I look at him, confused. “Why?” I ask. “He attacked you; he had to be killed,” Adam replies.

She admitted. “I'm right here. Nothing will happen to me. I still have to protect you.” “Who was it?” “It was Adam and a couple of men from the Black Bloods Mafia Organization,” I explained. “Adam is working with the Mafia again?” “He was. Adam is dead now.” *** EMILY’S POV The news of Adam's death was shocking, but it was a relief. With Adam gone, I could finally clear my name. He was no longer around to be spreading lies about me to my superiors.

The hum of the engines filled the gaps, and I could hear the faint rattle of glassware from somewhere in the galley. Adam’s eyes stayed fixed ahead, but I could see his mind wasn’t here anymore. “They always told me… he died in a car crash. Two years old. Too young to remember the world, too young for the world to remember him.” His voice dipped lower, steadier. “And I believed it—because why would I have any reason not to?” He stopped there for a long moment, jaw tense, fingers curling slightly against his knee. “But,” he continued at last, “last night… I learned the truth.”

I put the phone on speaker and placed it between us. “Lila’s here. What call?” “Adam picked a fight with another inmate.” We looked at each other in the glow of my cell phone. “He’s never been able to get over his anger issues.” “True. He’s been getting beaten for the last few months because of his hot head.” “What now? Another hearing?” Lila’s voice shook a little, and I reached out for her hand. “No.” “No?” We stared down at the phone in shock. “Adam is dead.”
