she instructed the others behind her, her voice commanding. Liam’s brow raised, eyes moving between Adriana and George, both armed with swords instead of guns. “Swords? Seriously?” he asked, surprised. His gaze settled on George, then back to Adriana. "Why are you two using swords when guns exist?" Adriana didn’t spare him a glance. Her eyes stayed locked on the approaching soldiers. Her fingers flexed around the hilt. “Because I’m better with this,” she replied coolly, lifting the blade with precision. Her gaze hardened, locked on the threat ahead. “And it doesn’t run out of bullets.”

The instructor gave a small nod. "Good. You're learning" Kai, standing in the next lane, completely missed his target. "I blame the gun," he muttered. "You missed the paper," Adriana replied. "I was aiming for a confidence boost" She couldn't help smiling. The next exercise involved combat knives. The members practiced throwing them at wooden targets. Adriana struggled at first, but after watching the instructor's technique, she adjusted her throw. Thunk! The knife embedded itself into the outer ring. A few attempts later

He fished out his knife from his armor and hurled it in a straight line, sending it flying toward its target. Stab! The frontmost enemy had his chest pierced clean through, and Adrian appeared behind him to catch the knife in mid-air. With another swift movement, Adrian kicked two more guards into the air and slashed their throats before they even landed on the ground. Adrian’s movements were so swift that his enemies were all caught off guard. None of them were able to react to the situation. They were not even able to let out a single cry, while Adrian eliminated another couple more within seconds, leaving more than ten bodies in his wake.

But they're gonna get another thing coming; Hunter basically doesn't take other people's bullshit and he's not gonna start now. To make him more charming, he has practiced mixed martial arts since he was young, and has won a lot of golden medals; but he doesn't fight back when the bullies try to beat him up, he only just dodges to not let one of them end in a hospital. My heart jumped when I saw him walk into the ring. He wore simple fighting clothes that showed his strong build. But he moved differently than the others. Graceful. Controlled. His opponent was another hired warrior, younger and eager. The fight began. Adrian was fast. He dodged attacks instead of blocking them, always staying just out of reach. When he did strike, it was precise. Never more than necessary.

Before Pavan could answer, Adren walked over and scoffed. “Oh my brother,” he said mockingly. “If you’re this weak, maybe you should focus on your health instead of fighting for the title of strongest martial artist.” At that moment, Pavan understood. This wasn’t a coincidence. He looked at me and said quietly, “You were right.” Adren noticed and turned toward me. “Who are you? You must be new.” I met his gaze. “Why do you care?” Adren laughed. “You’ve got some nerve. Do you even know who I am? I’m Adren Giovanni, the strongest in the combat training hall. When you speak to me, you bow.”

We both stumbled, nearly fell. Adrien recovered first, pulling me up and shoving me toward a gap in the fence. "Go! I'm right behind you!" I squeezed through the gap, tearing my jacket on the chain-link. Turned back to see Adrien following And saw one of the gunmen round the corner, weapon raised. "Adrien!" I screamed. He dove through the fence just as the gun fired. We hit the ground on the other side, rolled, scrambled to our feet. "Car!" Adrien shouted. "Get to the car!"

I asked. Adrian, who was the closest to me broke away from his partner and came over. "It would be my pleasure, Alpha," he said. Adrian and I started sparring and things got pretty intense very fast. My fists flew at him with the speed of striking bullets. He was fast, but not fast enough to defend himself and attack me too. I increased the intensity of my blows. It felt so good to hit something. Doing that took away the edge of my frustration. And then, minutes later, there was a loud, sickening crunch as my fists connected with his nose. Nearly everyone stopped to watch.

She frowned, paused, then stepped inside. Two men were fighting, instantly recognisable, though wearing white padded fencing jackets, their faces hidden by protective masks. Tall men, equally matched in height, vigour and skill, they were wielding rapiers. Their feet pounded the cork matting as if strictly choreographed — lunge, parry, riposte: backward and forwards. They were so intent that they ignored Karen, were probably not even aware of her presence.

The distraction was only half a second long, but it was enough. I threw my weight backward, driving the heel of my boot straight down onto Adrian’s instep. He groaned, his grip slipping just enough for me to tear my wrist free. At the exact same moment, Darien charged forward like a wild animal. Darien slammed his entire body into Adrian, throwing him away from the scaffolding and hard onto the concrete floor. The knife flew out of Adrian's hand, skidding across the gravel and dropping through a gap in the floorboards.
