Hailey's pov; Upon hearing Austin's claim that he was a vampire, I took a sick leave from school and remained at home. When questioned by my parents about my absence, I reported feeling unwell. My younger brother, Charlie, disregarded the situation and proceeded to attend school as usual. In the meantime, I conducted extensive research on vampires. After poring over numerous sources, one commonality emerged - vampires are not real. It became apparent that the internet cannot always be relied upon for factual information.

I averted my eyes and looked at the sun. "They can do everything they want by the time they stop time." He added. "They are called monsters because of their ability. They can kill when time stops. Many are afraid of them so they are killed." He looked at me. "Gredator also has vampire blood. Blood of a strong vampire is needed to be a gredator." He said as he turned to look at me. I swallowed at what he said. "The other graders don't do anything to them but why do they want to kill all the graders?" I asked.

Anna snaps me out of my trance. "Well, I was saying it's about time you had a little fun with, I mean find a cute guy or girl" Maxine giggles. I scoff. "I have the perfect one, hey Chris!" She yelled. I turn around, a guy with cute blue eyes look our direction, he has black curly hair with cute dimples when he smiles right at Maxine. He walks towards us, then I knew he wasn't human, he is a vampire obviously. "He's my mom cousin's son" she said before he made it to our table, his eyes were on me. "Join us" she told him before he sat next to me, brushing over my shoulder.

His agitation forced Charlotte to become serious, she asked him to sit down. “Listen to me carefully, Mathew. Stop fighting with your wolf.” Her stern command finally cooled him down. “In a vampire community, there are two types of sired vampires. One is like Liam, an almost dead person revived by pure-blood’s venom. Second type is Jason, the ones who were forced to turn when they were still alive.” Charlotte sighed at several question marks popped at Mathew’s head and started to elaborate things further.

It gathered around, thickening and bristling so that all who came in contact with it were immediately rebuffed by its scorching heat and rough edges. The vampires waged a bloody war against the Brevians, ripping off flesh and digging out hearts. They fed on the blood of their victims after every kill, thereby getting stronger and fiercer. The Brevians fled for their lives after seeing their comrades drop down in alarming amounts. The vampires chased after them, killing them with shocking speed. By midnight, over five thousand Brevian soldiers lay dead. The vampires fed on their blood until they could drink no longer then they faced the Jaresh empire's central city.

Neither side knew what to make of it, fighting each other but seeing her as the bigger threat. Ava came across a vampire pinning a soldier to the ground. He raised his hand to pummel the soldier, and Ava caught his wrist. Through their contact, Ava sent a jolt of electricity into the vampire, causing him to go rigid. As the vampire continued to kneel over the human, his body under her control, she opened her mouth. Wider than was natural. She sucked the vampire’s soul from him, devouring it. Finished with her quarry, she released him. His husk of a body fell face first on top of the human she saved. The man did not move, paralyzed as he was in fear. Ava walked away.
