In the early morning sun, Elaine could still see Andrew's grin as he left her in the shadows of the night. “You idiot,” The knight murmured, fingering the bright gold letters of the book, thinking she should have let him kiss her for what he’d done. Both so frustrating and yet the salvation of her people, “You wonderful idiot.” Elaine took a seat in the wooden chair, her hand opening the age-old book. Eyes scanned the countless names and gifts of fire, ice, and even wind. Some could speak into minds, and those who were so powerful they could bring down kingdoms or even end the 200’s year war.

“All right. I’ll need help moving some of the wards; Kael, Garrick, stay with me.” Rayna rose from her chair, and for the first time since the ball, I saw how exhausted she truly was. Power hummed faintly under her skin - the mark of her bond to the Goddess - but it flickered now, like a candle fighting the wind. She started to close the door but I put my hand out to stop it.

He stared wiping his blood-stained hand on my white blouse. There were no tingles of pleasure but just a chill that ran down my spine. He must have this idea of the effect his presence made on other people. And all I wanted to do was shout like crazy. Rayna won! Rayna would be our fuc*king queen! No! No way!

When the second body falls to her feet, she looks up at me, blood dripping down her chin, and her eyes slowly returning to her normal colours, though the red one only changes by a shade or two. “She’s a vampire?” We both turn to face the cell and I smirk at Xavier, “she’s a tribrid.” He scoffs, and all three of them shake their heads in disbelief. Aurora wipes the blood from her face with the back of her hand and glares at all of them. “I’m also your queen, so show me some fucking respect.” Fucking Nyx, she’s perfectly terrifying. Xavier’s pupils dilate in horror under her hardened gaze and the other two shrink back, avoiding her eyes.

Aethon hesitated, collecting his thoughts before speaking, his eyes scanning the room as if ensuring they were alone. Aethon's eyes locked onto Rage's as he asked, "What do you know about a mate bond between Raven and King Raphael?" Rage's expression turned cautious, his mind racing as he chose his words carefully. "I don't like to meddle in the affairs of King Raphael," he said finally, his tone defensive, his eyes darting away from Aethon's intense gaze. Aethon's pacing grew more agitated, his frustration evident in every step. "Rage, it's important! Elena threatened and I burst into laughter. “That's cute,” I walked closer to her and my face turned serious, “If your Aurora doesn't make It back alive then I will make sure you are beheaded for giving false information to the Lycan and I will make sure your husband is fed to the birds.” “Put some respect on that name,” Elena gritted, and I found it cute, “It's not just Aurora; it's Queen Aurora or Luna,” I immediately felt anger when I heard the word, Queen.
