Some were of Marcus' patrolling the city with his usual smug face and a shiny jeep that spelled out LA police and the others were him eating alone a burger in a diner. "What am I looking at exactly? A sad man wasting away by eating greasy burgers?" With a huff, Jaime had his finger on the diner's logo, McHenry's Diner. "Sir it's the same one" Suddenly his heart beat rapidly, the same same diner had appeared in his life after years of trying to bury what had happened eight years ago. "There are so many diners in LA. The bell chimed behind them, bringing in a rush of warm night air as more patrons filed inside. Kadeem, Mateo, and Riley were settled into the booth of an old diner just outside of the city limits. It was well past midnight, but this place was iconic enough to keep the hordes weary travelers of I-35 coming through its doors. Signed photos of celebrities, including a few Weres, covered the walls. Mateo pushed his plate in front of Kadeem. “Not even joking," he said, with an earnestness that made Kadeem roll his eyes instantly. “This is the best pie I’ve had in my life!”
