Alex still looked unconvinced, so I added, “I ate it and I'm here, still speaking with you.”
Alex scoffed. “Fine. But if I die from food poisoning, my spirit won’t rest until I get revenge.”
I ignored him and told Brian to head to the restaurant.
A few minutes later, Brian pulled up in front of a small but fancy restaurant. A red plaque above the entrance read Triple A’s Kitchen, glowing under colorful lights.
Alex frowned. “The name alone isn’t convincing.”
“Brian,” I said dryly, “I’m not fighting off vengeful ghosts tonight. Get food only for you and me. Alex can eat at the hotel.”
