Luxian POV — My eyes felt heavy even though I’d just woken. I pushed myself up anyway and went to the bathroom. In the mirror Lucy stared back at me. “I told you not to show up whenever you want,” I muttered, turning the toothbrush between my fingers. “Well… I have no choice.” She studied my face and I rolled my eyes. “What’s the last thing you remember?” “What kind of question is that?” I snapped. “You’re losing your memory, Lu.”

“Do you remember anything about your world…?” “Of course I remember the world I lived in, but I still can’t fully recall it. Well, I only remember a few faces I knew from when I was a child, so to remember more, I’ll have to study it!” Xiao Chen’s explanation made Lou Li suddenly feel afraid, and Mu Biyu also quickly composed her expression as if she hadn’t heard anything wrong from Xiao Chen. “What’s wrong? Is something wrong?” asked Xiao Chen, surprised by the expressions on the two women’s faces. He could tell, even if only for a moment, that both of them seemed taken aback by what Xiao Chen had said.

“What do you remember?” ‎ ‎Aiden looked around the garden, the colorful blooms, the stone paths, the intimate lighting. It pointed toward the horizon. “It said there were others who come.” “They carry chains, not truths.”

After a short rest, they sat down again and put their helmets back on. Mr. Wilson gently wiped away my tears and began another round of hypnosis. “Miss Lily,” he said in a calm voice, “you and Miss Emily are sisters. Tell me, what is the one thing you remember most clearly about her?” The thing I remembered most clearly? My memories began to blur, and the dream twisted into chaos. I couldn’t steady it right away because there were too many moments burned into my mind, each one sharp and impossible to forget. They surfaced in fragments, scattered and broken.
