Alaric wandered through the shelves aimlessly, randomly peeking at me through the gaps. "Did you have the dream again?" "Yeah...dream...nightmare..." Alaric had been having the same nightmare ever since he came to the pack. It always started the same; he relives watching Matt and his father fight with Pru and Heather. However, as Alaric snaps the neck of Hodges, Hodges changes. He turns into a faceless woman. Alaric stumbles back to the ground as an invisible dagger impales his heart. The faceless woman is his mate. He killed her. Then when he looks around to Matt, Pru, or Heather, they are all gone, and he is left alone with his mate's lifeless corpse.

Anytime we do extra he always cheeks in on me. “So, do I get an answer to my question?” I asked him and he sighed. “Alaric is an ancient artifact that belongs in a museum but somehow still roams the earth after a thousand years,” Fred said with a straight face and I could immediately tell where Isla got her sense of humor from. “What I'm hearing is that Alaric is a vampire, with that age he's probably a vampire lord and both of you have a love-hate relationship,” I said to Fred who scoffed and rolled his eyes.

I express with a hint of frustration in my voice. “Skyler, my sweet mate, we are like kindred spirits in the vampire world. We possess an innate ability to provide solace and support to one another during our most challenging moments. Remember when I rescued you from the treacherous cavern? I apologize if no one has enlightened you about this aspect of our existence. However, time is of the essence, and we must act swiftly.” Alaric's face brightened with a bashful grin as he spoke.

Alaric’s tone is mocking. “Do you honestly think you’d be the first she-wolf to try and clinch success with her body? Did you think you could trick me with such an obvious trap?” He laughs at me, the sound bitter and cold. “You probably wanted that new guy Richard to grope you in the hallway. A new doctor, right? The perfect victim for your spell, I bet he has money.” Alaric won’t let up, continuing to mock me. He looks extremely angry. “All that fainting you’ve been doing lately, all these theatrics. You’re probably just trying to stir up sympathy until the right, dumb wolf comes around so you can trap him with a baby.”

“I may look young, but I’m not.” She looks at him, confused. “Look, I stopped aging at twenty. For me to start aging again I need to stop shifting; stop becoming a werewolf.” Now she has questions: a lot of them. “So exactly how old are you, Alaric? And how old was that vampire?” “I was born in 1895,” he murmurs, his head bowed. Her fingers move as she works it out and he snickers slightly at the sight, causing her to lose count. She rolls her eyes and starts again, her head snapping up.

He followed moments later, his release hot inside me, his teeth sinking into my shoulder as he muffled his roar. "Mine," he panted against my skin. "Always mine." We collapsed onto the bed in a tangle of limbs, too spent to move. Alaric traced idle patterns on my bare back, his voice drowsy but satisfied. "Still think Elias is your mate?" My skin crawled at Alaric took his name. He was a viper, who somehow managed to dlip into my life. I still didn't know how he managed to pull this trick off, but whatever it was, would be ugly. And I would definitely find out what he was upto!

Sarah's POV There he stood—Vincent Reyes, the notorious loan shark who owned some of the underground businesses in the city. He was the owner of the loan shark company and also a werewolf. His tall figure filled the doorway. Alaric's eyes flashed with irritation. "You are late, Reyes. The moon doesn't wait for anyone, neither do I." Vincent ran a hand through his slicked-back hair, offering a slight bow that didn't quite reach his eyes. "My sincerest apologies. Had a little... situation."

After all, they were werewolves, and finding a vampire as their daughter or sister’s friend, they were more like shock rather than feeling disgusted or judging Liara for making him as her friend. “Hey, buddy!! I’m Calvin.” Alaric looked at the carbon copy of Colton, whom he hadn’t observed before because he was busy wondering why he was receiving that look. Now, it was his time to get shocked. “Not a big fan of vampires because of what we are, but if you’re Lee’s friend, then you’re my friend as well,” he said with a wink, giving Alaric a friendly environment. “What’s your power?” Brandon asked, arching his eyebrow.

Isla pov I stared at him, stunned, as he stepped out of the car. Almost instantly, cameras began flashing, the photographers eagerly taking photos of Alaric. “That’s Alaric Voss! I can’t believe he really came,” some of them exclaimed, their voices cutting through the night with excitement as they scrambled for more shots. But Alaric didn’t even blink at the flashes in his eyes, as if he was used to it.
