I cried out as the movement sent a fresh wave of agony through my neck and shoulders.
"Let her go," a new voice boomed.
It was a growl that vibrated through the very ground beneath me. It was deep, heavy, and carried a weight of authority that made the air itself feel thick.
The rogues froze. The leader let go of my hair, spinning around to face the trees.
"Who’s there?" the rogue shouted. "This is our kill! Get lost!"
A massive wolf stepped out from the shadows of the thick pines. He was huge, easily twice the size of a normal Alpha wolf. His fur was a midnight black, and his eyes were a piercing red that seemed to glow in the twilight.
