A low growl, deep and distorted, echoed from somewhere ahead. Kael motioned for silence. They moved quietly toward the noise, ducking under a fallen log and pushing through a thicket. The clearing beyond was worse than either had expected. A deer stood in the middle, or what was left of one. Its eyes glowed silver, its body twisted in unnatural ways, like bone and muscle had been rearranged. Steam poured from its mouth as it turned toward them, making a sound that was almost human. Suddenly, the surprise vanished from Odessa's face, getting replaced with a faux smile. "Alpha! I got a deer!" She called out. Sheera was flummoxed. She sucked in air as she watched the Mistress lift the deer onto her shoulders and began scurrying away. What!!!? Odessa hurried with the deer until she met the Alpha and the others. Keegan gave her an impressive look. "You killed this?" He asked as she set it down on the ground. "Yes, Alpha. I guess our hunt will not be fruitless anymore." Odessa exclaimed with delight. "That is not true!" Sheera showed up, panting. "I killed the deer, not her!"

If anything with Reina should be known by Green, Alta wanted it came from himself, he wanted Green to hear it from him, not anyone else. Less than 30 minutes, Alta's motorcycle arrived at a house with its door closed. After parking the motorcycle, Alta went into the house. He noticed Daren was busy with his laptop, wrapping snacks and others all around him. "What is this room of the trash anyway?" Alta asked as he entered the room. Daren looked up then laughed. "Yes, I haven't cleaned up," he said, gathering a few packs of snacks and putting them in the plastic. "What's wrong? That's a little weird thing you come here to see me."

But deep down, my heart yearned to retreat from the festivities and find solace in solitude. Alpha Chester guided me across the room to a particular spot where the other Alpha stood. This man was striking, with long, white-blonde hair that cascaded like a waterfall down to his waist, and piercing pale blue eyes that gave him a slightly terrifying appearance. His presence exuded an aura of power and confidence. Alpha Chester introduced me to him, "Nora, meet Alpha Jacob of the Storm Claw Pack. The very thought has me contemplating how Stefan and Gorjon manage to build such a cabin. "Where is your brother?" I asked. Stefan did not have time to answer as Gorjon made his presence known. He shoulder open the old worn out wooden door and dragged in a dead baby deer. If I had eaten breakfast already I would have certainly thrown up all of it. I looked closely as he dragged it in, barely able to until Stefan ran over to help him. The deer was strange, black, eyes white and scary looking. But what made it all the more strange was the wings on its back.

As the deer saw Zaric running towards him, he ran for his life. Zaric howled loudly as he ran after the deer. It didn't take him long to catch up with the deer. He jumped on top of the deer and sank his long and sharp fangs inside the deer's neck. The deer tried to fight for a few months. Then it gave in. Zaric's golden fur was drenched with deer's red blood. Zaric waited until all the blood flowed out of the deer's body. Then Zaric stood up and ran back towards the palace. He held the deer in his mouth as he ran towards the palace. Zaric entered the palace and took the deer straight towards the kitchen. Igor raised a hand to signal for silence. "A deer," Igor whispered, looking straight ahead. I peered between the leaves and saw a stag with majestic antlers calmly munching on grass. Its fur was golden brown, its eyes large and alert. Pascha raised his rifle slowly, his eyes taking aim with sharp focus. But before he could pull the trigger, a small squirrel jumped from the branch above his head and made a noise. The deer straightened its head, its ears twitching. Pascha swore under his breath, but it was too late. The deer had already jumped away, leaving us in an annoyed silence.

As he sees a family of deer strolling across the field. I get up with my glass of wine, “I do. That family right there I see daily. But there’s quite a few others that roam around too. It’s not even just deer,” I walk over and stand next to him, “I see squirrels, groundhogs, rabbits, there’s all kinds of little guys running around. Sometimes it’s so cool because I’ll be out here sitting and something will make its way onto the deck.” Albert gently runs his pinky down my hand that is sitting on the railing next to his. He turns to me and looks me deep in the eyes. “I want to kiss you right now but I don’t want you to think I’m a creep.”

“Her eyes turned green and… a fiery gold. Or amber? Bright as a flame. That's not all. I saw an eerie tattoo on her neck. A full moon and a crescent, together.” Ty's father's word echoes in his head again. Mismatched eyes and a crescent moon mark? What does that mean? The room is silent for a few moments before Curtis interjects his thoughts, "Since we're on the subject of serious news, I should get to the reason I actually came to see you, Alpha. He gestured through the window toward the makeshift guard house across the commons. “Alastair is under lock and key. I know my Leap doesn’t have much in terms of manpower, but we do know how to hang and field dress a deer. Alastair is no more than captured prey. There isn’t a family in this camp that didn’t lose someone they loved to Alastair’s raid. No one is going to take pity on him. No one’s afraid of him. Not with you and your pack backing us.”
