Leon POV Fuck! Every bone in my body screamed for me to run, but I didn't dare move as I knew my mother's life was literally in that devil's hands now and if I ever want to see her again, I would need to find out just what that relic or whatever secret weapon the Crescent have is. And I would have to do that by becoming close to the enemy's true alpha heir. “Well this should be quite fun huh,” I let out a dry cough, trying to hide the pain in my eyes.

The underground tunnels depicted on the map loomed in their thoughts, a labyrinth of potential dangers and unknowns. “Do you think the map is accurate?” Isabella’s ex asked, breaking the silence as they trekked deeper into the woods. Isabella glanced down at the worn parchment, her fingers tracing the faded lines. “It has to be. It’s our only lead. If there are remnants of the Alpha King’s forces down there, we need to find them and end this for good.” Aria, ever vigilant, scanned the surroundings. “We should be nearing the entrance. According to the map, it’s hidden beneath an old well.”

Alpha Kelan’s POV “Are you sure about this, Alpha?” Liam, my lieutenant, placed the map carefully across the long oak table in my office. The parchment spread wide beneath the dim golden light of the fire sconces, marked with borders, forests, neighboring pack routes, and the villages that surrounded our kingdom. I stared at it for a long moment before exhaling slowly. “Do you have a better idea?” I asked, my tone calm but tired. Liam hesitated.

Gabriel reviewed a map with soldiers. Fenrir moved next to Gabriel while I stood awkwardly between Winter and Oragon. Winter eyed me. “Do you run fast?” “I don’t know… average?” I said. He leaned in like he was sharing a secret. “You’ll need to run faster.” Oragon gently pulled Winter back by the collar. “Stop scaring her.” Winter scoffed. “I’m not scaring her. I’m preparing her.” “That is scaring her.” Gabriel approached us with a rolled map. “Sector Six borders the old ruins. We’ll travel by foot. Stay sharp. Stay quiet. And above all—stay together.”

“But I’ve been dead in this house for years. Helping you… it makes me feel alive again.” The lump in my throat grows harder. “Tobias…” He sits on the edge of the bed, pulling a folded paper from his pocket. “Here.” He smooths it across his knee—a map drawn in rough lines. “This is the forest. Follow this path north until you reach the river. Walk in the water if you can, it hides the scent better. From the river, keep heading east. A day’s journey. If you don’t stop, you’ll reach your mates’ territory.”

I unrolled it carefully. A map. Three blood moons etched in ink. One mark claimed. Another awakened. The third… still dormant. I looked at Azelia, then my sister. “There’s another?” Azelia frowned. “No. There were only ever three of us.” “Maybe,” Bianca murmured. “Or maybe the third moon doesn’t represent a person…” Her voice dropped. “But a place.” We looked at the map again. The final moon was marked deep in the Eastern Reach lands abandoned long ago after the First Fall. Places none dared return to.

“Don’t scold me. Lyn wanted me to leave her. She’s okay. She knew you guys were waiting for me.” I pointed out. “Still.” “Since you are here, you should take a look at this.” Damien called out. I ignored Hillan and went to check out what Damien was pointing out. It was a house map. “What’s this?” I questioned in confusion. “Another hideout. Not the one we were at earlier. This one is further north and I think we will find a lot of things there. Like other breeds.” Damien revealed. “Huh?” I questioned, staring at the map that wasn’t a regular house map. Even the palace map didn’t look so complicated.

Kael looked back at me. “I want to fix part of it.” “And how do you plan to do that?” He reached into his coat. Several warriors stiffened. But he only pulled out a folded map. He handed it to me. I opened it carefully. The map showed the entire Frostveil valley. But someone had added new markings. Hunter routes. Supply trails. Hidden observation points. Rowan leaned closer. “Where did you get this?” Kael answered quietly. “I drew it.” Darian frowned.

It used to be such a warm place, now it was spoiled by the attack and the abduction. Finally, my hands made their way to the pile of maps that I had seen Alastor, Damian, and Orion pouring over for days and days. Some of the maps were new, but many of the maps were extremely old, to my surprise. The older maps were drawn on pieces of parchment that were turning brown with age and fraying at the edges. I gently stacked the maps up, just straightening them into a neat pile to make them look better.

He unfolds several sheets of paper across the rocky ground. Alaric and I exchange looks. Without realizing it, we both step closer to see the contents of the paper. It is a map. A map of Neutral Territory bordering the Nightwhisper region. One area is circled in red; I’m not sure what it means. I have never seen that place on any kingdom map before. “If we want to destroy Alpha Garson, we need an army.” Dorian points toward the red circle before glancing at us. “Your uncle may have elite forces under his control. But he does not realize… some of his enemies survived.”
