The red dots crawl inward toward the island’s center. “Wait—are they all abandoning their territories?!” someone blurts. “Yes,” he confirms. “Why?” He taps again, and green dots appear. “These are the Alphas. They’ve been moving deeper into the island, searching for the monsters. This image is from last night.” Another tap—the red dots shift again, flanking the green ones, circling from behind.

Why yes, yes I would. I didn’t stop glaring at him, but I did shut my mouth as he crossed to his desk and pulled out a piece of parchment. I stared at it curiously and saw that it was a map of the greater Wolven Territories, encompassing all of Nightwolf, Silvermoon, and their neighbors to the North and West. There were red marks all over the map, along with tiny penciled columns of numbers and what looked like percentages next to them. “What…what is this?” I asked, curious. I ran my fingers over the maps. Here, there was a large red circle with the number 50 beneath it and the notation, “65, 10, 70%”

He begins walking towards the forest that surrounds the castle. As we walk I notice that the terrain looks oddly familiar. The King chuckles as he lumbers clumsily through the trees. "You are a clever wolf," he laughs. "What do you mean?" I ask. "The terrain looks the same because our realm is a mirror image of your own." The silver light continued spreading until a complete image appeared. A map, ancient and detailed. Far older than the one beneath Nightbane. Lucien stepped forward sharply. Shock flashed across his face. "I haven't seen this since the kingdom fell." The glowing image revealed roads, cities, mountains, and territories that no longer existed. Entire regions had vanished from modern maps.

His gray eyes were fixed on the terrace doors watching for any sign of trouble that the digital protection was down. "The system did not just lose the connection, Julian, " Elena said quietly.
