Alpha of Nightmares
The Alpha of Incubi, the monster from every warning story, lowered himself before my papa’s headstone with more respect than most men showed the living.
He placed the flowers at the base of the stone.
“Grazie,” Alec said quietly, his voice low and solemn. “For raising daughters strong enough to survive what should have broken most.”
I stopped breathing.
Crista covered her mouth, fresh tears spilling down her cheeks. Delilah made a tiny wounded sound beside me.
I stared at Alec, at the man everyone had feared, and something horrible and warm cracked open in my chest.
Papa would have approved of him.
