I writhed on the ground, but the invisible flames kept burning me. My entire body felt like it was on fire as I curled into a ball on the floor. My voice was raspy, a wild, beast-like roar escaping my lips: "I'm burning up, someone help me, please!" Joanna just stood there, watching with icy detachment, unmoved by my suffering. He felt like he was staring at death itself. Hailey knelt, clutching her chest and struggling to breathe.
