Where the Curse Falls
In the flickering light, her face twisted into something monstrous and wild.
I was suddenly overcome with a wave of sickness, letting out a cry of agony.
I writhed on the ground, but the invisible flames kept burning me.
My entire body felt like it was on fire as I curled into a ball on the floor.
My voice was raspy, a wild, beast-like roar escaping my lips: "I'm burning up, someone help me, please!"
Joanna just stood there, watching with icy detachment, unmoved by my suffering.
