“Oh, look who finally decided to show up,” she says. “Have a fun little spirit journey?”
I blink at her, still sluggish. “What?”
She rolls her eyes. “Yeah, yeah, whatever. Look, I think Humphrey did a lousy job moving Sally from our room because I just got attacked by flying books.”
That wakes me up.
“What?” I repeat, sharper this time. “You mean—”
Ariah holds up a hand, cutting me off. In her other hand, she dangles something between her fingers—a skeleton key with a pink ribbon tied around it. My heart skips a beat.
