The creature screamed. Black smoke poured from Kael's body. It rose into the air, twisting into a monstrous shape. For the first time, I saw what had been hiding inside him. Not a man. Not a spirit. I said, my finger running down his chest once again. He groaned, his large hand caught mine and gave it a squeeze. "The King of Sethum?" He asked and I nodded, leaning down to kiss his jaw.
