There was a hole in the roof and tiny dispirited snowflakes drifted through.

Jason managed to smile as he led the way to the basement. "I swear I will run away from this room if I see any cockroaches or bugs or ants or-" Jax listened to her whines and grinned at how funny she sounded. They went to the attic, it appeared dark and a bit dusty. Jax ran his fingers on the wall in search of a switch which he eventually found.
