Between Breathe And Goodbye

Between Breathe And Goodbye

—and just as she was about to continue, the light appeared. It was not the green light of the Realm. It was not the white light of the hospital. It was something else, something that had no color because it contained all colors, something that was not bright because brightness was too small a word for what it was. It was the light of annihilation. The light of absolute revelation. The light that burned not the eyes but the self, the identity, the carefully constructed architecture of who Eliana thought she was and what she thought she knew.

Claimed by my Ex-husband Billionaire Brother

The lamp stayed on. I had not turned it off and neither had he and neither of us moved to turn it off because the dark was not what this required. What this required was the full version — the lit version, the seen version, the version in which nothing was managed by the condition of the light and everything that was present was present in the available illumination. We were seen. Both of us. The specific variety of seen — one to the other, across the full account of seven months, in the light of a lamp in a room in a house that had been the arrangement and had become something that did not have a name in the arrangement.

Reborn to Defy Fate

Reborn to Defy Fate

It was for me alone. > “We are coming for you… child of the divided dawn.” A shiver wracked my entire body. > “We will not allow the bringer of light to survive.” My heart slammed hard enough to hurt. > “One light cannot hold all darkness.” And then the whisper turned cold. Hungry. > “We will claim what is ours.” The last trace of darkness retreated into the earth, disappearing like ink sinking into water. Silence fell again. Except this time, it was the wrong kind of silence.

Then I open my eyes. Pitch black. Not dark dark. Aggressively, personally, vindictively dark. I raise my hand to my face, and it disappears. There isn’t a single sliver of light—no gap in the curtains, no blinking standby light, no merciful slice of moonlight sneaking in to help me out. Adrian had, apparently, gone to great lengths to ensure that even the concept of visibility couldn’t get comfortable in here. I stand there for a moment, taking that in.

You Chose Secrecy, I Chase the Light

You Chose Secrecy, I Chase the Light

On my wedding day, the wedding car dropped me off at the service entrance beside the dumpsters behind the reception hall. Mark Perrette opened the door beside me and issued the same familiar order. “Go through the back. I’ll take Kat through the main entrance. That way, none of our coworkers will find out.” Before I could respond, he sped off with Katrina Palmer. He left me standing alone in a puddle of filthy runoff with my wedding dress bunched in my hands. It was the ninety-ninth time Mark had left me behind to keep anyone from suspecting we were together. We had kept our relationship secret for eight years. He claimed that an office romance would damage my reputation, so he used hi

Beyond His World

Beyond His World

Morvane's expression darkened. "And if it sees through her?" The First Light looked at Liana. "Then it may eventually see through you." Silence returned. --- Liana walked toward the window. The stars outside were shining again. But now she couldn't stop wondering whether something was looking back. She placed her hand against the glass. "How do we stop it?" The First Light remained silent. The First Shadow answered. "We don't." Everyone turned. The silver-eyed ancient being stood near the entrance. "We cannot destroy what we do not understand."

The witch and her wolf series

The witch and her wolf series

Book 2 *Soleil* Wonderful, darkness, silence, nothing. Until something soft, moist and warm interferes. The safe darkness is interrupted by the light. I fight against it. I want to stay in the dark, but the soft, moist and warmth keeps getting more intense and the light gets sharper. My eyes flutter open. At the end of a long tunnel I spot long green leaves of grass. That is really weird, I was just looking at blue flames a moment ago.

I Marked The CEO Mine

I Marked The CEO Mine

And he had been with Lawrence , breathing down her neck the whole time. She tried to turn away from him, but his darkness was everywhere. It looked as if she were floating in a night sky, but all the stars were impossibly far away; there was no sign of Earth. Close by were patches of darker blackness, swirling abysses. And every now and then a shaft of light appeared, a beacon of hope, illumination. Then the light would vanish. Where are we? she asked.

Alpha Hybrid Queen

Alpha Hybrid Queen

I then began to recite the words, and happily I heard the others doing so, too. “Moon goddess, shine your light down from up high and highlight the place that I wish to seek.” I began repeating the words over and over and then suddenly there was this bright, sparklingly beautiful light and I almost opened my eyes to shield myself from it. But I held them closed, knowing it would break the spell. To see what you couldn’t see, you must first not see what you could see.

HEIR OF LIGHT

HEIR OF LIGHT

he said, All at once terra felt her insides turn, her heart fell, for a while she thought he'd admit it and we could move on. A quick smile to her face stopped any suspicion he might have had, What if I don't want it broken?, what if I told you I loved you?, she thought, He stretched his hand as it enveloped him, a shock went through both our bodies as a bright light radiated out.... *†*
