It never went away; it just went underground! There were many fierce characters in the world of warriors, like the dreaded Twelve Evil Spirits. They would do anything for money, committing terrible acts. Nobody knew their real names, but everyone knew their scary nicknames. Elio's eyebrows knitted together. He knew how tough his enemy was. In a serious voice, he asked, "You must be working for someone. Who's the one in charge?"

But both Amber and I gasp in complete shock because we've heard those names before, but the way she’s talking about them compared to what we've heard seems to be very different accounts. She raises an eyebrow and shakes her head, sighing. “I see. Well, it’s too late for a full history lesson, and I’m sure we are all tired. At least, I am.” She chuckles, rubbing her lower back. “If you’re here in the morning, I’m happy to tell you the truth because I was there, but for now, all I’m going to say is don’t believe everything you’ve heard. The real villains in that story are Issac, Randall, and a few others.” She says, spitting on the ground in disgust.

Jake pitched in. "It's a tie so whose side are you on Alexis?" Asher asked hopefully. "You're the tie breaker." I looked around me at the four guys and couldn't help but wonder how I had become such good friends with all of them and how I was able to tolerate their stupidity. "Staying true to myself," I began, "I've got to go with the villains, because honestly who are superheroes without villains to fight? That's right, just a bunch of weirdos in tight-arse clothes and underwear outside their pants," I stated matter-of-factly. "Batman wouldn't be Batman without The Joker and Superman wouldn't be Superman without Lex Luthor."

I was still speaking when Maya smacked my hand softly. “Nah-uh, don't you dare feel bad for nobody's betrayal…. you're not the villain in this goddamn story girl!! He and his entire sicko family are the devil here, remember? They tricked you, lied to you and now they're trying to play some goddamn supero spy shit with you, that is some villain type of bullshit and you don't have any right to feel sad about getting up in their ass and sniffing them out.” She said then crossed her arms.

The threat of her hatred would be appeased. It was time. I took a deep breath and started. “I, Scarlett...—” Oh my god. Oh no. No, no, no, no.... This couldn’t be happening right now. I didn’t know Scarlett’s last name. Why the hell would I remember the random surname of a secondary villain? Truthfully, I couldn’t recall it being mentioned in the book at all. Did I even need it? Maybe I could still break the pack bond without stating my last name.

I moved closer to him and unlocked the metal locking his mouth then returned back to my seat letting the silence settle. “Who sent you?” My smile disappeared. He remained silent. “Wrong answer.” I slammed the crowbar into his hand, making a hole in it. “Argh,” he screamed out, then blood began to trail down his battered hands. “You ready to talk?”Still quiet. No problem. I like them difficult. I moved beside the wall where he was tied and flicked the switch. Then the real show began. He began screaming as electricity traveled down his body. Increasing the voltage to its highest level, his screams increased, and his skin began to change colors.

He glared murderously at the woman who drugged him. He would make sure she had no good days. Sera felt chills crawl up her spine when she saw the look that the two men were giving her. She knew then that whoever was targeting her knew about all her schemes and stacked the deck against her.

There was no need for him to add his brand new wife to the list. She needed to focus. This man was a villain. He had been the head of a notorious ring of aristocrats that had treated commoners like garbage. She had researched him and his family, she knew all about their crimes. He had only turned everyone in to save his own skin. He wouldn’t trick her. She would watch him. She was sure that he would go back to his old ways, and when that happened she would promptly turn him in. She was sure the king would annul their marriage when that happened.

The thorn in the villainess’ side. It didn’t help that Henry never denied nor ended their relationship. The nickname stuck and it was what tabloids and vile d-list celebrities refer to me when they rant about me, when they twist every word I say, when they cook up rumors and articles about me. The foreigner, the villainess. The unwanted third wheel. The gold-digger. The last one made me want to clutch my sides, roaring with laughter. If there’s a gold-digger in our relationship, it would be Henry and his family. We have been subjected to their leeching behavior for hundreds of years.
