“Look who it is ladies, it's the fat midget Allie.” I’m not exactly short but I am smaller than a lot of other girls I go to school with. Being 5’2” isn’t too small but when all the other girls are 5’5” and taller, they seem to think if you are shorter than most people you must be some sort of runt of the pack or something, and it doesn’t really help when all the tall, skinny girls that look like twigs call you fat, which I am far from being fat, I just have a nice big butt and I am a bit more top-heavy in the chest area than most girls but they all seem to think I am just fat. I just try not to let it get to me. “My name is Alex, not Allie, and What do you want Jackie?”

The snap sounded like my body's last protest before my hand finally loosened. I had been clutching a transparent ziplock bag, the kind my grandmother used to store her blood pressure medicine. The scientist opened it carefully and removed a folded piece of paper. The bag had protected it from the water. Only the edges were slightly damp. Crayon marks covered the page, words mixed with simple musical notation. The title read, "A Song for Mom." [One little duck went out one day. A home from my dad not far away. Daddy duck said quack quack quack. That little duck came home right away.

There were neat, small sticky notes poking out from almost every single chapter. I opened to the first marked page. In Maverick’s handwriting, there was a note that read: “Does page 14 mean the data moves faster if you shorten the string? Let me know if I got that right.” I stared at the note, my heart feeling so light that I felt like a teenager again. I looked up at him, completely stunned. "Maverick... did you buy a coding textbook?"

I smiled at the petite girl. “Call me Raina Charlotte.” I reminded her again. She gave a shy smile and nodded. “How are you today?” I asked. “I’m fine” She replied and I could tell she didn't feel very good about talking to me like this so I decided to stop to make her feel a little more comfortable. “Good to know Charlotte. I need you to make Lucian a meal and pack it up for me please” I explained to her. “I’ll get to it, Luna. What do you want me to make for alpha?” She asked? I didn't try to correct her about calling me, Luna again.

Aria let out a breath before walking past everyone, mumbling apologies here and there, as she walked past their large bodies Aria was 5'5 which was quite small for a woman her age, but she loved it. She walked into her lecture for today which was English, mumbling a little greeting to the Teacher. Aria sat in the middle row, so she could get assets to the board well. With that, the teacher closed the door as the last student walked in. "I am very good at this cleaning job Sir and I can reassure you that I am no longer into..." "I never accused you of anything," Atlas cut her off taking another drag from his cigarette. "Martha the little slut," Atlas chuckled cupping her face in his hand as he raised her head so her eyes could meet his, he cupped her face in his hand squeezing tightly as Martha winced from the pain.

Sophia didn't understand that at all, she was just a country girl who was far from modern. "Sophia, why are you so quiet? Are you tired of joining us?" Rachel asked. “No, it's just that I don't understand what you guys are talking about.” Sophia rubbed the back of her neck in embarrassment. This caused a question mark reaction in the girls. They wondered if Sophia was so innocent or stupid? Judging from her appearance, Sophia looked like a rich kid. When Sophia entered the classroom, the three of them immediately noticed Sophia's appearance. They knew that the bag and shoes Sophia was wearing were branded items that rarely circulated in the market, aka limited edition!

And I sigh heavily, pretending to be dramatic. “Fine.” I can see her eyes light up and the excitement bubbling like she could burst, so I quickly put my hand up staying her building squeal “MINIMAL! Like eyeliner and mascara kind of minimal. Got it?” She covers her mouth and quietly nods in agreement as she turns and skips to her room, where I can hear a squeal and frantic grabbing of things. I’m not sure what circle of hell I just unleashed, but I’m fairly certain she blacked out when I said yes and didn’t listen to the minimal makeup I was reiterating. She emerges from her room with a bag of makeup and I raise a questioning brow at her.
