“We need a strong Luna.” Andrew turned then, his eyes locking right on me. No one else seemed to notice, their attention on him, but I felt it like a spotlight. His gaze was piercing, unblinking, and my skin prickled uncontrollably. “The Moon Goddess must have made a mistake mating me to a low class mate,” he said. “I want to openly reject this mate. I, Andrew Kane, Alpha of the Northwest Pack, reject Elena Torre as my Luna and my mate.” The words hit me, pain flaring in my chest. Laughter bubbled up from parts of the crowd, whispers slicing through the air. “She really thought Aloha would choose her?” someone asked. “She’s of no class?”

Her scent surrounded him, burned into every cell of his body. The bond was real. It was there. But he refused to accept it. A humorless laugh curled his lips as he looked at the little omega before him with complete contempt. Who did she think she was? "This is a mistake," he growled, rage bubbling in his veins. When it was time to present his case, he stood up and gave her a glare. " Elders. I feel insulted that the Alpha was summoned but the Luna is here, but I would respect your decision. What I cannot accept, however, is that she is not the right person to be here. She is my mate and a member of the Blue Moon Pack!" Reed snarled. Luciana gasped. “I'm not your mate!" she shouted. “I have a mate who is the Alpha of the Black Moon pack, not you! And I am not a member of your pack. You cut me off when you rejected the mate bond and chased me away from the pack. I belong to the Black Moon Pack!"

“I am sorry, Kyra. I really wanted to sort this out indoors but it would only make sense to end it here. So, I, Killian Darkmoon, reject you, Kyra Nightingale, as my mate.” I shook my head violently, refusing to accept the words. “I don't accept this rejection!” He looked down at me, expression pained but resolute. “This is not how it works, Kyra. I am an Alpha. Whether you accept the rejection or not… it still stands.”

Alpha Killian sat in the dimly lit prison, dressed fully in white as if he was the angel of light. His unreadable gave, however, was fixed on the dark cell opposite him. Despite the poor and depressing condition of this place, the alpha was sitting on an exquisitely crafted chair, arms on the armrest. The memory of his Luna's brutal attack on Bellatrix hadn't faded from his mind. Just recalling the fact that Katelyn endangered his mate despite knowing their bond made his face finally show some emotion.

“I searched every corner of the continent. I thought rogues had taken you, or worse. And then… fate finally led me here.” I hugged my knees, silent tears slipping down my cheeks. “You destroyed me, Killian,” I whispered. “I had to crawl out of that darkness alone. And now you expect me to just… forgive you?” Killian’s eyes shimmered with anguish. “No,” he said softly. “I don’t expect forgiveness. I only hope… that one day, you’ll let me prove I’m not the same Alpha who hurt you.” --- When we reached Nightfang borders, the pack erupted in shock. "And what is she like, this girl you suffer for so much, great Alpha? How special is she that you reject a woman who is ready for you in your own bed?" Killian let out a snort that was half growl and half sob. He staggered back, leaning against the wall, looking at me with a contempt that curiously made me feel loved. "She is... she is the most goddamn sexy girl that has walked upon this earth," he said, his voice becoming husky and deep. "She’s stubborn, she’s disobedient and she has a mouth that drives me crazy! She’s my Luna, goddamn it, and I’ve screwed up! I don't want anyone else. Get out!"
