He saved us all from the hands of that tyrant, Waylen or we might all have continued to be slaves or dead by now. He's fought wars for our sakes and done everything to protect us. He was betrayed by the woman he loved and lost his entire family, he doesn't deserve this. How unlucky he is to finally open his heart again only to be betrayed once more. Just then, his loyal Beta found him. "Alpha, Luna has been slaughtered by rogue wolves!"

"NorthWulf is currently celebrating." Rula was heartbroken. She instantly lost her spirits. "'I just left NorthWulf, and he betrayed me already?" Rula muttered. A Ga grabbed Rula's shoulders. "He's not loyal. He's not like the other Alphas." Rula looked at A Ga. "You should know who the new Luna is and make a protest!" A Ga fumed. "I'm not Luna, but I know what it feels like to be betrayed." Rula remained silent. She was trying to adjust to the bad news she had received.

I sat in my study for hours, after the council meeting ended. My mind raced in the silence, still thinking of what my mother had done. She had betrayed me and now I wasn’t sure if there was any way to fix our broken bond. I thought back to the past when I had come back with Lexi and told her that I wanted Lexi as my Luna. She had discouraged me, claiming that marrying a Rogue would taint the Alpha bloodline, only to find out that she had a Rogue son the whole time. What a hypocrite? I thought aloud, feeling utterly disgusted.

“You’re my best friend. You’re my only friend. I’m sorry. I’m sorry. I’m so sorry.” Her blood stains my hands, my dress, and even my soul. I told her I would protect her, but I failed. Still, I keep whispering, hoping by some miracle the Moon Goddess will revive her. My voice fades, but nothing happens. The dream felt surreal and I rushed off to Alcandar's room where I was stopped as usual at the door. "Let me in!" I yelled. But the guards paid no attention to me and instead looked away. Jacintha finally caught up with me and went on her knees. "Please Luna, let's go back to your room." Jacintha begged but I ignored her. "Let me see my husband! Are you out of your senses? Are you crazy? Who are you to hinder me from seeing the alpha? Do you know who I am? I am the Luna and I could get you killed for what you're doing!" I screamed yet they didn't bulge.
