"You were supposed to be our Luna. Everything was going so perfectly. Now what the hell is this? A fucking breeder?? For the twin Alphas??" I placed her hand in mine and patted it, "Oh, Maria. But I'm alive, right? That's all that matters right now. I was supposed to be killed brutally by these Alphas but now I'm here in front of you, alive." "But why a breeder?" Maria wiped her eyes, her face was now a mix of worry and confusion. "Alpha Marcus and Alpha Julian.... they could have any woman in Moon Haven. They could take a hundred mistresses, if they wanted. Why would they want you as a breeder? It doesn't make sense."

I strongly suspected it was a breeding thing. Breeds were a big deal in our world. My parents were both Alphas, making me a superior breed. An Alpha and a Beta would breed a strong pup. Likewise, an Alpha and a Gamma and so on, but An Alpha and a Sigma would not be impressive. They blamed her for destroying the future of their pack.

"The others, what do they know?" "The others have heard rumors that have spread throughout the years; I doubt anyone knows you exist or how you look. My grandmother told me stories about you...and your kind." I chuckled at her words. "My kind? What do you know about my kind?" Her tongue darted out to wet her lips. "I know about the supernaturals. I know you're a werewolf. A very powerful werewolf." "Dear Savannah, I'm not just any werewolf." I lean forward, holding eye contact as I speak my next words, "I'm the alpha king." Her throat bobbed as she swallowed, a small smile pulling at the corners of her mouth.

They literally wanted to eat me. My exhausted, feverish brain took that single thought and ran entirely wild with it. It made terrifying, perfect sense. These Alphas didn't keep defective toys. They bought a healthy breeder for their pack line. I couldn't even survive a little bit of cold water without collapsing on the bare floor. Maybe this was exactly how Lycans disposed of useless Omegas. They fattened them up. They gave them massive beds and warm rooms. They called them sweet food names. And then they dragged them into the dark pine woods to be entirely devoured.

He didn't tell me that it was to be a breeder. “I don’t want to be your breeder," I mumbled with tears streaming down my eyes. I can't be a breeder. I can't bear to use my body as a carrier for someone's child. Someone who wasn't even my mate. “Roxanne!” Alpha Alejandro yelled as he glanced down and straightened himself. “You have two options. You either be my breeder by choice or by force. You know what that means right?” “You don't have a choice,”

A few whispered another name with hushed reverence: the breeder. Freya tried to shut it out. Tried not to let it take root. But the seed of dread was already planted. And still, she did not see him. The Alpha. She thought perhaps he would never come. That maybe he was a shadow, a myth to keep others in fear. But her father’s words came back to her, and Lycril’s, and the murmurs that grew thicker with each passing day. He was real. He was powerful. And he had bought her.

“Alpha, if you are willing to donate ten million to my pack then I will take it and find use for it. thank you for your generosity.” He stood looking pissed. “I will add another ten more and I get the woman first.” I laughed, “Alpha, I am afraid I don’t know what you are talking about.” His hands shook on his sides. “You know I am talking about the breeder, Jackson and no. I will not threaten you like Lucien did, I will just take her, and you know I can.”

Noah said as he headed to the door. They smiled at Priscilla before walking out. "So, Fighter, you’re yet to tell me why you don’t have an Alpha," Noah said, and Fighter sighed. "Honestly, I don’t know much—there’s no one to tell me. The little I know, my uncle told me, and some journals my parents left behind. They were werewolves too—Alpha and Luna, I presume—since only Lunas can breed," Fighter said, and Noah nodded. "In a pack, yes. Only the Luna is meant to breed. But sometimes, other pack members get pregnant too, and they often leave the pack to start their own as Alpha and Luna—somewhere far from their original pack," Noah explained.

“A while back, I got a breeder—” “Breeder number what?” I asked him. It was a method of identification he once used the close time when we were having some random discussion. He looked glad for a bit then replied, “Breeder number two. She was from a little pack that was troubled by savages. After helping them defeat their attackers, the alpha gave away one of the daughters of his breeders as mine. It was great, you know. She was the first breeder I didn’t personally go in search of, rather she was kind of given to me as a thank you and all.”
