Hunter sighs again after my words, and he glances at me, his eyes showing emotions that I don't want to believe is real. “Half a month ago, Alpha Damon faced an assassination and his first mate got severely injured in his stead. At some point, she went into a coma, and they lost their mate connection.”

“I’ve been waiting for you. Tell me you’ve spoken to the human.” Human? My blood ran cold. No. No way. He wasn’t— Dr. Phil turned to me and pointed. “Here she is. She’s the one. Though, she’s refusing.” A strange silence filled the room as the man turned back to me, this time his gaze sweeping over me with scrutiny, like he was assessing every inch of me. His eyes flickered to my stomach, and then suddenly, it clicked. He was the alpha. He was the man whose sperm had been mistakenly used.

Only Dominic stayed upright. "You're late Ronan " Dominic said. He tried to sound composed.. I could smell his fear. "You speak of laws Dominic?" I asked. My voice was a predatory growl. "The law states that the Alphas word is final. The law states that a mate is sacred. You have brought fire and steel into my home. You have turned brother against brother. That is not law. That is treason." "It is survival!" Dominic shouted. "Look at them! Their children are dying! The land is turning to dust while you play at romance with a girl! Where is she, Ronan? Give her to us."

All that raw supernatural energy. “you are trying to break something strong,” Alpha Darius said. He had always been the smartest of the three. “You’re trying to break a mate bond by force .” “Not just any mate bond,” I said. “ The kind that transcends lifetimes. The kind that keeps pulling two souls together no matter what I do.” “You’re insane,” Remus said. “Maybe,” I agreed. “You fools wouldn’t understand.” I walked closer to them, studying the symbols carved into their skin. The runes that connected them to my ritual circle. Everything was working perfectly.

Even subdued as she is, insane laughter spills out of her mouth, “I told you! I told you I’d make him mine!” The sound of her laughter enrages me but Lucas is standing in front of her protectively. It’s almost as if he is deaf at this point. “This is why half breeds aren’t allowed to live,” Aliya says, grimly. “They go insane. Especially half breeds with one parent who is a shifter. They are far too powerful.” Her eyes are fixed on Lucas and then me, “Malcolm found me. He brought me to Damon and told me what was going on.”

Allison continued, "That night I did not know where to go and when would your father come back, so I went to one person who I can trust blindly. It was Samantha. Samantha helped me a lot to take care of you and found another baby boy. She knew Rosa Harrison and her husband Albert Harrison. Rosa was barren. She could not carry a child. That night they were also there when I went to ask for help. However, when they saw you, I saw fondness in their eyes. Samantha gave you to them. But not before hiding your real identity. I didn’t know.” Ashley slid off the bed and wrapped me in a tight hug, her arms warm and comforting around my trembling body. I clung to her like a lifeline, my tears soaking her shirt as I cried harder than I had in months. Alison walked in, pausing when she saw us. “What’s going on?” “Lorenzo,” Ashley whispered. “He’s her mate.” Alison’s eyes went wide, and she hurried over to us, her expression filled with concern. She wrapped her arms around me from the other side, joining Ashley in a protective embrace.

“He married my mother at a young age because he wanted to improve his genes. My mother was a mixed-blood, and she was much healthier than most of the women in Sea City. But things didn't turn out the way he wanted.” Samson sneered. “He was actually very careful. He only had me as his son. He had so many women around him, yet he did not have any illegitimate children. He even wanted me to freeze my sperm, so there’s no way I would not know what he was worried about.”
