“How did you… Alpha… oh my God…” A giggle burst out of me and I hugged the board against my chest… tight… like it was the most precious thing I had ever held. I can't believe I had been jealous of myself some minutes back. I thought he was giving the drawing more attention. Turned out his attention was only for me. It becomes a darker shade of brown when he's furious, and goes back to a lighter shade when he's just being cold and distant. I'd never seen him smile. None of us did since Mom had me. But I know he has a perfect set of pearl-white teeth he grits whenever he's mad at me. A sneer of satisfaction escaped my lips as I took a vial out of the drawer. "In a few minutes. How long do you need to keep my pack hidden? You'd better make sure your plan won't fail." He shrugged, feigning nonchalance. When I opened it, a drawing of a wolf welcomed me. He had a sad little face, with a somewhat fat body and an enormous head. It was a chibi version of a wolf, with a small bubble at the side that read a big sorry. I laughed helplessly, drawing the attention of the teacher and all the students. We were always together. The place, the date, or the time did not matter. We were soul mates, after all, even if he didn’t know it.

Alpha Mars' POV After my shower, I dress in a pair of dark blue jeans and a plain charcoal gray V-neck that grips around my firm biceps and loosely covers my abs. My full-sleeve tattoos and neck tattoos are on display. I add my thick white gold chains to my neck and a leather cuff bracelet and my Rolex to my wrists. I pull my shoulder-length long blonde hair back into a ponytail, exposing the shaved sides of my head along with the rose tattoo I have behind my left ear. Slip into my biker boots, then head towards the second floor.

I cried while Alpha Louis mumbled a few words in front of me, and the entrance to the tree was closing. Before the entrance closed, Alpha Louis smiled again at me. He smiled at me widely, showing me his top teeth. "I am glad that this time, I managed to help. Thank you, your highness, and say hello to Ellie and his majesty for me. Goodbye," He said while smiling happily at me until the entrance was fully closed.

Taking over a pack was not the right thing to do, people died because of it, and yet she was on Alpha's side. Was there a missing piece of the story which I did not know about? I started walking outside but stopped a little far away looking at Alpha with the same toddler in his lap who had a huge book in his tiny hands. Alpha looked carefree, those children were not intimidated by the Alpha, and they were not scared of the scar on his face. They loved him. The room had paintings drawn on the walls by the children, those paintings might not be perfect for some people but they gave life to the lifeless room.

For a moment, the usual hardness in his expression faded as he stared at the drawings. He raised a finger and pointed at the first figure. “This one is the Luna holding Gab,” he said softly. Then he pointed to the figure beside her. “And this one… that’s you.” I stared at the rough sketches on the wall. Even with simple charcoal lines, the drawing somehow captured the protective way I always stood. “And this is Henry,” Julius continued, moving his finger to the next figure. “And these two have to be Alpha Stone and Mr. D. And this one…”
