"How did you send them away?" Alpha Logan's expression hardened slightly. "I insisted that they had no right to search my pack. I told them to leave immediately." I hesitated, then asked, "But who are the Council of Alphas?" Alpha Logan's gaze grew distant as he explained. "The Council of Alphas is a conclave of all the Alphas in this region. There are twelve of them, and we all act as a check and balance system for each other. They hold very significant power and influence."

She was the best I had ever had, and I wanted to find her by all means possible. I pressed a button on my car and the automated assistant spoke. “What would you like me to do for you, Alpha Leo?” it spoke in a feminine voice which was neither friendly nor hostile, like an AI. “Call Fred.” I ordered. “Calling Fred.” it responded before placing a call to Fred, my Beta. “Good morning, Alpha. I’ve been wondering where you were last night. Did anything happen sir?” he questioned with concern and worry in his voice. He is a very loyal man and my most trusted subordinate.

When I finally spoke, my voice was calm. “Please. Stop. I don't want trouble.” Her friend folded her arms. “It’s too late for that. You bring bad luck. Trouble follows you like fleas on a stray dog. If I were Alpha, I’d feed you to the rogues and watch.” Then, a roar exploded outside—cheering voices, drums, feet stomping. A pack celebration. My stomach turned. “Long live Alpha Alec! Long live the Alpha!” A shiver ran through me.

That's it pet, eyes on me, and only me. "When your Alpha," I step into the doorway, motioning for her to go through, "gives you an order, you follow it." Her pupils dilate in recognition. Smart little pet looks like she has it all figured out, but if she does, she's not showing it. With her head held high, she comes at me without missing a beat, holding her breath the entire time she has to pass me, but that doesn't stop her scent from slamming into me… and something’s going to give.

With shaky hands Daniels pulled the Humvee away from the vehicles, made a U-turn and started the drive back to base. “Hey, explain to me what that thing was!” Zane demanded. “Well for every one-thousand Pales born there is one alpha.” Daniels started to explain. “Alphas are smarter, faster, bigger and stronger than an average Pale. An alpha can stand in UV light. It’s believed they are a more pure version of Pales. They have tails too.”

An Alpha is possessive, they take and claim, they don´t share, or wait for their mate to be ready, or get her head out of her ass. I don´t know where all of this is coming from, or who the woman who answered was, but I looked at them and took a deep breath: "Please..."

I waved at them and they smiled. Their expression changed to terrified when a guy in his twenties showed up from the forest. He had dirty blonde wavy hair and a pair of forest green eyes. They scurried away, leaving that guy glaring at them. Then he turned to face me. I gulped down my saliva nervously. "Is he the alpha’s mate?" Ambrose asked. I don’t think so. Kevin talked about so many things in his pack, but he didn’t mention his alpha having a mate.

The air stilled as the words dropped from Alpha Cage's mouth. The Alpha standing before him couldn't process what he'd just heard. A Beta as a pet? It was completely unheard of. Kit on the other hand looked so pale that it was a miracle he didn't pass out. "Alpha..." "I believe I don't have to explain myself to you" Alpha Cages said in a cold voice. The other Alpha nodded, his eyes landing on Ezra for a second and then he quickly looked away.

' Ehile walking over to him. Alphas eyes looked us over and with a hint of pity in his eyes, he turned to the bar tender and ordered a jack on the rocks, three fingers and two coconut rum and cokes. Alpha handed Sophie our drinks, and walked to the table with his own. Sitting down we all read the menu to decide what we wanted to eat. I couldn't decide what I wanted to eat so I ordered the chef specials, so did Sophie and alpha, My appetite was insatiable. While waiting for my food to arrive i was drinking my coconut rum and cokes, I really didn't understand what the deal was with drinking was, the taste wasn't that great and it made my stomach churn, and I was beginning to feel nauseous.
