“That’s very Slaughterhouse-Five of you.” For those who don’t know, Slaughterhouse-Five is probably the most famous book by Kurt Vonnegut. Although it’s an anti-war story about the firebombing of Dresden during World War II, it’s also a science fiction novel. Among other insane plot points, the main character and a woman he’s never met get abducted by aliens and put in a zoo on the aliens’ home planet, where the extraterrestrials watch them exactly like humans would watch a pair of chimpanzees in a cage here on Earth.

“You don’t believe me?” “It’s just this people in other dimensions thing is a bit hard to swallow,” Kendra admitted. “We just came from the earth’s core where there are prehistoric animals and giants living. Our world is being bullied by aliens from a different planet,” Olga huffed, “Yet, you find it difficult to believe that there are people living in alternate dimensions?” Kendra looked chagrinned. “When you put it that way…”

Hi If anyone is waiting for updates on this book - they will happen, but I have some plans for this book, and this is the second story of the series - Rain and Ashes. I am currently working on the first story, and then I will get back to this one - in a few weeks. No, no need to read the first one to understand this one, but probably some details will make sense if read in order.

Kaya, Langdon, and Lionel remained speechless as they Veronica's words. "What does that have to do with us? Wouldn't that just transport him to another universe?" Tristan asked. "What are you talking about? What is that about universes?" Lionel frowned. "A solitary, unique universe that is perfect for just one, selfish person? It doesn't exist. He would need to create it and that would mean... wiping out your existence." Veronica announced, clearly pleased with herself. Francesca knew she had been waiting for this moment, when she could finally spill all of Stefano's secrets.

A small smile tugs at the corners of my lips as I put him down, hearing him growl for the first time. I stand here watching Brice as he plays, knowing he's more than enough for me to want to live for. I look over as a female walks over and hands me a plate of food that I take, before giving her a slight nod as she lowers her head to me with respect. I look around at everyone as they began to eat again. This is my home, my family, my pack. That had been an imaginary World of Tomorrow where the natural hierarchy and boundaries of wealth and social status had been erased, like the idealized Democracity or the egalitarian Futurama. Where people attracted to one another were free to explore that gift in each other's company without question.

I placed her down on a bed of grass and made a makeshift cover for my groin with the cut fabric. The weather was warm, an extreme contrast to where we came from. We couldn't have parted for more than seventy-two hours. How then did she find herself in such a situation in just a little time? Unless … like I had guessed this must be an alternate universe with a different time count. I was aware there are countless realms in the universe – alternate universes even, whereby beings could live a different version of themselves. Or a rebirth of a soul in another body, another realm. But I have never heard or known of a soul experiencing the two at once or was I mistaken?

“Are you guys ready to finally do as we were formed to do?” My eyes glared at Callighan as he lifted his head up to the sky. Once that loud howl came from him, we all prepared ourselves as the wolves charged at us altogether. All we could do was fight to our hearts desire.
