‘Rhobart had been a God in another world,’ Ayla thought. “Your world, what was it like?” she asked. Rhobart said it was a violent world, but even chaos could be beautiful. “Do you miss it?” There had been many scholars, mages, and astronomers who claimed the possibility of other universes. Books had been written about parallel worlds and how one could travel between universes with the help of powerful spells or magical objects. Ayla had read some of those books, but she never thought much about other worlds. Not until Rhobart. Could more Gods come to her world? And if that happened, would her world be in danger?

The rift began to close. The alternate versions screamed as they were pulled back into their realities. The dominant Alex reached for Alex one last time. “You’ll always wonder,” he whispered. “What it would have felt like to own him completely.” Then he was gone. The chamber stabilized. The rifts sealed. Alex and Damian collapsed together on the floor, breathing hard. The child hummed softly, calming. The reality rifts had been closed. But they had brought allies with them. From one of the fading portals stepped a figure—another version of themselves, but different. A version where they had won earlier, where the child had been born healthy, where the invasion had never happened.

This was frightening to think of. Time was one of those things even magic can't alter. So, there was no way the world got forwarded by five years. Other than this, there was only another thing she could think of. This wasn't the same world as the one she lived as Seraphine; there were high chances it could be an alternate world with the same characters and storyline. Since she could transmigrate into a novel, this could happen as well. Seraphine was grateful to the immense amount of fictional books she read for her imagination.

My name—or some version of it—attached to a fiction that mirrors my reality. "You were halfway through the sequel when the accident happened," Jacob explains. "You kept talking about some wild new direction for the story—something about parallel dimensions and a character named William trying to harvest energy from multiple realities." The room seems to tilt around me. In this reality, my life—my true life—exists only as fiction. A story written by a version of myself who somehow glimpsed across dimensional barriers. A notification pops up on the tablet—a news alert. Jacob doesn't notice as I read the headline with growing horror:

What if jumping back in time didn’t make the universe stop and rewind, what if I just jumped into a parallel universe and started a new one? I could have left Jenny alone with both me and Claire dead. That Jenny’s life would go on while I restarted my life with another Jenny in another universe. Which brings up an even more pressing issue. Is it considered cheating if you fuck the same girl over and over in different parallel dimensions, or is it incredibly romantic? He waited, patient, his eyes were warm, and kind.
