I remained in the sitting room with a book resting in my lap. Not a word from it was read. My thoughts wouldn’t calm down. Each faint noise drew my gaze to the door. Every step caused my heart to quicken. The mansion seemed transformed. Less secure. As if peril had subtly slipped in. A knock echoed from the front door. One of the guards unlatched it. And so she left. The door closed behind her with a soft click, final and unforgiving. She noticed her eyes, those innocent pairs of eyes that looked at her worriedly. “I am cursed… You shouldn’t have brought me home,” Amara replied in between her sob. She breathed heavily and wiped her tears away. “No, hon. I couldn’t leave you in the woods. You’re way safer here, trust me.” Amara almost smiled bitterly. This human didn’t know what she was capable of. She almost harmed her in the woods. If she hadn’t controlled herself, she knew this human would have died from her hands, too. Too, yes.

~AMARA~ I hate the way I can feel his gaze on my skin; I hate how my torment is a source of amusement to him. He drags me through unfamiliar hallways of what seems to be an aged, not so well taken care of mansion, like a dog on a leash.

I said, even though I really didn't trust her like I made it out to seem. "Alright, I trust your judgement," My father said as he rose from his seat. "Get some sleep, we'll worry about finding her tomorrow. I sighed and buried my face in my hands. I was about to try and relax before I received a call from Adrian. "Hey boss, I have some news. Amara's car was found at a convenient store just a mile away from your house before you even found out about the incident. I don't think she knew about getting caught. I'm sure there's another rat," Adrian said.

Adam showered her with necklaces, rings, bracelets, and the best furniture in all the realm. I tapped the door with my middle finger twice. Amora's head shot up in surprise; a broad smile could be seen from the other side of the room. She lay her needle and leather down, running to me. "Creed, it is so good to see you!" With a kiss on the cheek, she pulled me inside. "You came at a good time; Adam isn't here. You can't stay long though, your scent will get everywhere." Amora grabbed a glass of wine from her table. "Drink this."

The white space began breaking apart again. This time for good. And before everything disappeared, Adrian felt Amara’s hand find his. Tight. Warm. Terrified. Because they both knew one thing. The story wasn’t over yet. Not even close.
