“They never just go away when you say that.” No, they don’t. Tristan hadn’t. And now Fabian wouldn’t either. I rubbed my temples, the beginning of a headache forming. The amulet’s residual warmth mixed with the memory of Fabian leaning in. It was different from Tristan, but no less complicated. Marc ran over holding his finished wolf craft. “Look, Auntie Jas! It’s the silver one from my dream. See the stars?” I took the paper creation and smiled, pulling him into a quick hug. “It’s perfect, baby. You did great.”

Taylor She had appeared, seemingly from nowhere, perched on a barstool at the end of the bar. My amulet had suddenly become hot against my shin and I knew she was supernatural. I ducked down, pretending to situate something under the bar, so I could peak inside my top and see what I was dealing with. I furrowed my brow in confusion. My amulet was red, it was never red. Black meant vamp, golden yellow meant were, white meant fae, occasionally it would be a mix of those colors signifying a hybrid. I took a deep breath to steady myself and stood, making my way to her.

She pulled a pouch of her bag and handed it over to me. Inside was a beautiful amulet that had an emblem etched into the emerald. It was black and intricate, but it did not look familiar. It was gorgeous though. There was no denying how special it must have been because I could feel the power radiating from it.

None of these things were touched. She noticed a powerful spell had gone through the back of the panel; but no other defect, save the shattering of the clay pot, had been done. Celestina could not help but notice the strange arrangement of the trinkets on the ledge of the panel. All the scarabs, bands, and witch amulets were arranged in a jagged oval round, an exquisitely engraved golden model figure of a fang-like crown with a disk and emblems.

A simple amulet sat in it, and I pulled it out. “You can use that. It’s an artefact that blocks pheromones, but unlike the one you currently have, it doesn’t need any drugs to work. As long as you’re not taking in anything, your body won’t fight against it.” She said, pushing her glasses up with her index finger.

Taking it into my own adrenaline fuelled, trembling hands, I see what it is—a bronze amulet depicting the phases of the moon. “It will shield you from prying eyes and those who mean you harm. You will be able to travel unseen and leave no trace of yourself where you tread.” She takes the amulet from my hand, stands on the tips of her toes, and places it around my neck. Her fingers bush against my skin and a trickle of raw energy flows into me. I remember why I had been distancing myself from my only real friend.

I asked, making him nod happily. He shows me, making my eyes widen as I see how pretty it is. It's more of an oversized pendant. It had a wolf in the middle with runes all around. It was absolutely beautiful. "Wow. It's so... beautiful." I said, making him smile.
