“You did it, Ari!” Breathless, I released my hold on Caelum, standing tall as I looked toward Marcus. “Now, will you give us the amulet?” Marcus nodded slowly, a grudging respect in his eyes. “You’ve proven yourself worthy. I will honor our agreement.” He approached and handed me the amulet, a beautiful, intricately designed piece that glowed with the power of the Blood Moon. The blade was made of very strong steel and had the same wolf and moon etchings on the blade. The handle was made out of the same wood as the table and the end of the handle had a wolf's head carved on it. He held the knife up high in a ceremonial fashion. Just give me the amulet.” The other guard wanted to protest, but when he saw the glint in my crimson eyes, a sign that one wrong move from him could bring my Lycan to the fore, he sighed.
