Just give me the amulet.” The other guard wanted to protest, but when he saw the glint in my crimson eyes, a sign that one wrong move from him could bring my Lycan to the fore, he sighed. Reaching into his pocket, he pulled out a small, silver amulet. It was a small metal piece, with countless runes etched into the surface. This was the only thing that could unlock her cell—an enchanted piece of silver imbued with magic strong enough to contain even her. Only the Moon Goddess knew where my dad got this from.

I take it out, throwing the box on the bed before turning to Sycamore. “What is it?” “It’s an amulet. I crafted it out of moonstone”. I’m surprised. “You…you made this?” “Yes”. “That’s..that’s so…why moonstone?” “It symbolizes the werewolves. I got it for you because I want you to remember your true self when you are now a hellhound”. That makes sense. I hold up the amulet before him. “Could you..help me? Please”.

Against my better judgment, I stand and walk over to the case. The amulet glows brighter as I approach. It's beautiful. Silver metal shaped like a crescent moon, with intricate engravings covering its surface. And it's calling to me. I can feel it. Like my mark recognizes it somehow. I reach out carefully and touch the glass case. The moment my fingers make contact, the amulet flares with brilliant silver light. So bright that everyone in the hall turns to look. Conversations stop. Food is forgotten. All eyes on me and the glowing artifact.

If it can be saved, I will see to it. Madison smirked and signaled her bodyguard. He stepped forward and dropped a tattered, dirt-stained leather bag onto the velvet cloth. When Avery opened the bag, the air left her lungs. Her fingers began to shake uncontrollably. It was the Amulet of the Bound Heart—the very first gift she had ever crafted for Hudson. It wasn't just metal; she had infused it with her own wolf's essence as a vow of loyalty. Now, it was a mangled wreck. You're right, it's perfect.” I go to the counter and got the assistant to get it out for me; it had blood-red beads as the chain with small gold beads placed at equal distances along the chain. The amulet itself was an off-round shape with a bright blood-red stone in the center with lighter red stones surrounding it. I got the assistant to ring it up for me, we then made our way around the rest of the town. Along the way, I find a nice box to present it to him in. I hope he likes it “Don’t worry Scar, he will love it.”
