My mind instantly flashed back to a horror movie I'd seen where one of the girls had been in my exact position. Turned out it had been the serial ghost killer waiting patiently for her all along. I bit down on my lip, weighing my chances of leaving as quietly as I had come. The figure was faced towards but I wasn't exactly sure it was Damon. He would've said something by now.

The sight was macabre, a true testament to the horror that had unfolded in our midst. “Good heavens, what on earth is this?” Charlotte exclaimed, utterly repulsed by Holly’s ghastly appearance.
