As I stand here in the dark corridor, staring down at my hands, cold fingers suddenly wrap around my throat. “So delicious,” a menacing voice whispers into my ear. It sounds neither male nor female, but rather the amalgamation of thousands of voices all at once. It sends a shiver down my spine like nails on a chalkboard. “W-Who are you?” I say, trying to pry the hand away as it constricts my throat. “I am whoever you imagine me to be,” the creature replies, running a cold, wet tongue along my neck. “You saw me once, not long ago. I took the form of your dead friend. His body was fun to inhabit. So handsome…”

Chapter 20 LUCIEN'S POV. I was horrified as I faced a hideous creature that I hadn't seen in all my life. I couldn't explain the way I felt. Was it fear at having that creature touch me or was it just plain disgust. The creature had a large muscular body frame that could be about three of me put together, but it had the face of a woman and that face was horrible. Her eyes were ink black and seemed to have vivid red veins connecting to it. She had two holes instead of nostrils and instead of teeth, she had worms…

They were endless, like a plague, like nightmares given flesh. We can’t hold, my wolf snarled. Call her. Call her now. No. I couldn’t risk Zoey and I couldn’t drag her into this but the ground itself seemed to shiver and behind the creatures, a shape even darker began to rise. Massive, shifting, dripping black mud like an open wound in the earth. Something ancient and definitely wrong. It shouldn’t be happening. It had no face, just a gaping hole that pulled in air with a wet, sucking sound.

The floor gave way with a violent crack—and then it came through. Not the Howling Horror. Something worse. Something ancient. Its body was twisted like it had once been man, then broken and rebuilt with shadow. Huge antler-like horns spiraled from its skull, its chest caved inward with black fire burning through rib bones. Its arms were too long, claws dragging across the stone as it climbed fully into the room, snarling low and guttural. Its eyes—if they were eyes—glowed with the same void-black light as the corrupted wolves earlier. But this creature was no foot soldier.

the aged man roared, his voice echoing off the concrete walls. Then, as if summoned by his challenge, a figure emerged from the shadows at the far end of the hallway. Their hearts pounded in terror as the creature materialized—a huge, feral beast that looked like a full-blown lycanthrope. Its eyes burned a deep, bright red, and its black fur bristled in the dim light. A low growl rumbled from its throat as it advanced slowly, each step resonating with that of an apex predator. Before anyone could react, the lycan lunged. With swift, savage precision, it slashed out with its claws, catching one of the gangsters across the throat.

Waiting for his orders. Popobawa were horrible creatures gifted with black magic who fed off of fear. It's why you usually saw them coupled with hitmen or at the sight of natural disasters. I didn't think the AAs had enough clout to bankroll one of these rare creatures, but I guess business was booming. "You rang?" It never once had eyes for Q but continued to stare at me and Erika, lip curled back so we could see its gangrenous tongue as it feed from us. "What is it that you wish of me, Master Quinton."

It was biomechanical Nightmares – Creatures, whose bodies are made of the same crystalline carbon-factory consisted like the resin, covered by metallic cables and broken Carbon plates they had torn off the ship. They had six long, spider-like legs that ended in sharp hooks, and heads that only consist of bright, cold violet. “Leerenweber”, I whispered and my finger put on the trigger. The purple eyes of the creatures fixed us. Then they stumbled out of the resin and flew directly to us in the absence of gravity.

The thing slowly began pulling itself upward from the core chamber while wires snapped around it violently. Its body looked fused together from different layers of flesh and machinery, black cables embedded directly into muscle and bone. One side of its face appeared human beneath scars and metal restraints. The other side— Barely recognizable. Amara’s stomach twisted violently. “That’s not possible.” The Founder stared at the creature silently. And for the first time— Fear crossed his face. Real fear. Daniel noticed immediately. “You know what that thing is.” The Founder’s voice lowered. “Yes.” The creature lifted itself fully out of the core.

He was still pointing his weapon at something. Wren and Max stepped inside and saw what was now lying motionless on the table once again. Wren knew what it looked like, and he had hoped he was wrong. He had seen it when he and Lindsay had looked at the creatures days earlier. It looked almost identical to the monster they had learned was called Anubis. “We need to get this thing back in the cooler now. If it is what I think it is, it isn’t dead, and nothing we do will kill it,” Wren said as he motioned for Max to help him.

BANG! A loud, strange noise echoed in the silence. Everyone flinched and turned toward the source of the sound. The dim light revealed a gigantic, bizarre shadow in a gaping hole in the wall, as if it had been blown apart. Smoke billowed into the area, and when it cleared, everyone was shocked to see the monstrous experimental creature that Fah and Ton had faced in the submarine tunnel. Now, it had returned and was right in front of them. It had a hybrid shape of a human and a marine creature. Its eyes glowed a deep red, long octopus-like tentacles grew from its chin, and it had sharp claws. It lunged at the group with a deafening roar that echoed throughout the secret zone!
