But now it was a twisted mass of flesh and bone, crawling on too many arms, with its multiple faces locked in expressions of agony. When it opened its mouths, the sound was like nails on glass, amplified a thousand times. "Amalgam," Amon breathed. "Class C. How the hell did it get this close to camp?" The creature lunged. Amon acted first, his shadows coiling around its limbs to hinder it. However, the creature was powerful, resisting the restraints with savage force.

Evie whirled around, her heart hammering against her ribs. A hulking figure emerged from the darkness, its form vaguely humanoid but twisted and grotesque. Its skin, a sickly gray, seemed to pulsate with an unnatural light. Two glowing red eyes stared at her with predatory hunger, sending a wave of primal terror surging through her veins. It ran on a cloud of miasma and landed on the ground, its claws scratching the marble floor. Benson flinched. On top of the creature sat a man with skin dark as midnight. His black hair had wisps of gray that fell down to his waist in curls. The only color on his face were his yellow hawk eyes and his sharp white teeth as he grinned at the sight of his lost son.

The golden manes were now shredded and in place stood a furless pale creature with red eyes and jagged teeth. Crawlers? That is what they reminded me of, A more animalistic version of Orion’s Crawlers. The creatures attempted to growl at me but instead of something deep and menacing, it was a screech that sent a shiver down my spine, piercing every single nerve ending and shaking my very core.
