The moment she was taken from its line of sight, the creature began to twist and turn in desperation, seemingly not to get away from the ancients but in order to keep looking at Elizabeth. It stretched farther across the floor toward her, its shape thinning, until it looked like a ribbon of gray with nothing but feet and outstretched hands. “What is it?” Tensel asked. “I have never run across such a thing.” Sandu and Andor pinned the shadowy shoulders into the hardwood floor so it couldn’t move. The dark cyan long robe was made out of an unknown material. It was wrinkled and shiny, as though the creature was wearing a coat made out of lizard skin. This was a character straight out of a horror book. The thing that shocked Rachelle the most…was that the cries did not come from the creature's mouth. It was from the belly instead! “Begin.” Demons leap from the shadows—falling from the ceiling, crawling from walls, even sneaking up behind us. A massive gargoyle-like creature blocks our path, but instead of stone skin, his hide is made of bone. On one side of him is a lion-headed woman in Egyptian garb. On the other, a woman with antlers and a body split down the middle—half rotting skeleton, half cold-eyed human. Others close in from behind, but I’m locked on the horrors in front.

Before I can protest or ask for another moment to try, she grabs my arm and drags me toward another location in this bizarre landscape. As I open my eyes, the full scope of our peril becomes devastatingly clear. The creatures are so extremely close now that I can see the individual details of their corruption—the way their flesh hangs in ribbons from exposed bone, the writhing darkness that fills their empty eye sockets, the teeth that seem to exist in multiple dimensions simultaneously. Their numbers are absolutely terrifying, far more than I initially realized, with new forms emerging from the mist in every direction like a plague of supernatural locusts.

The thing that stalked out wasn’t a lycan and wasn’t a wolf. It was a massive, magically corrupted horror from the badlands. It moved on four heavily muscled, hairless legs, standing twice as tall as an alpha. Its spine was lined with “Show them who you are, Elara!” Caleb roared from the stands, and his voice was cracking in this… weird, chaotic desperation thing, like it couldn’t decide if it was anger or fear.

The creature resembled neither a human nor a ghost. The Violet Rain Bird’s expression turned grim, its massive body trembling. “Be careful, Master Adrian. This is a Human Ghoul.” A Human Ghoul was a humanoid monster classified as a type of daemonic beast. Its sharp fangs and black eyes presented a truly frightening sight. As the creature growled, Adrian's gaze turned icy. “You really think you’re something?” He charged at the beast.

"Saye, what is that you want me to see-" I say as I enter but pause with wide eyes and back hitting against the wall, shocked. "What the hell is that?" One of the boys, the youngest, has some one-eye creature. It's like a dark gooey substance paste, and someone just glued those plastic eyes for arts and crafts. Its round yellow eyes look around frantically. I feel a chill running down my spine, seeing how disgusting it is. "In the Demon Realm, these are called Carcurus; they are low-level creatures that find a victim and stick themself on a host sucking the life force out of them."

Unease clung to her every step, urging her to stay alert. Suddenly, the ground beneath them trembled, causing Amelia to lose her footing. She stumbled, barely managing to catch herself before falling. The pack members growled in alarm, their instincts sensing danger. A massive creature burst forth from the ground, its body covered in gnarled roots and jagged stone. Its eyes glowed with a malicious light as it let out a bone-chilling roar. It was a creature born of darkness and chaos, corrupted by the very essence of the Ancient One itself.

Eliana’s scream tore through the collapsing hallway as the creature tightened its grip around her ankle. Its fingers were ice-cold, unnaturally long, and strong enough to drag her backward across the floor no matter how hard she fought. The thing looked exactly like her, but wrong in every possible way. Its limbs bent strangely, its skin was pale and cracked like broken porcelain, and its smile stretched far too wide across its face. Dark liquid leaked from its empty eyes as it crawled toward her with twisted excitement.
