When the song ends, we collapse in laughter, breathless but lighter, the burdens on our shoulders momentarily forgotten.
The oven dings, signalling our meal is ready. I grab the mitts while Krys sets the table. We eat, indulging in food and wine, exchanging jokes that leave us laughing until our stomachs ache.
