The Nun's Lustful Desire
Cold air rushes up, and when Agnes raises her lamp, I forget to breathe.
Shelves fill the room, packed with cracked leather books marked with strange gold symbols, as if they’re keeping something evil trapped inside. Between them hang faded paintings of people fighting creatures with wings, horns, ice, and fire.
"Why have I never seen this place?" I whisper.
“Because you were never meant to.” Agnes’s voice is cold now, heavy with warning. “This room holds what the Church has gathered from people freed from evil spirits for over four hundred years. I kept you away from it for a reason, Angel. I’ve seen what curiosity like yours can do to a soul.”
